Lamp-posts do not automatically mean that the limit is 30mph.
I know of many roads with a higher limit that have them and I also know of some 20mph ones.

30mph fixed limit roads must have lamp posts but this doesn't mean that all roads with lamp posts are 30mph.

Those clearly are not residential lampposts. Residential lampposts usually have posters for lost cats on them.

Talking of which, I hope my poor cat isn’t trying to cross the road when the OP is zooming by at 50 in a 30 in his van.

Is there anything else you need to tell us OP. Amber gambling for instance?

And that's what repeater signs are for.

I know, but it still doesn't make the statement that "lamp-posts = 30mph" correct.

Without repeaters and the correct spacing it does.

And if my aunt had balls, she would be my uncle.

I must have missed the bit where facade mentioned repeaters and lamp post spacing because all I remember reading was a statement saying "lamp-posts = 30mph", a statement that without having any caveats added to it, is incorrect.

He didn't mention repeaters you're correct and therefore the speed limit would be 30mph.

Same camera but in different cars. The first is when I was returning in a pool car and about 15 mins later coming back in my private car. I've paid the £100 fine and sent my DL off for my offence and now the works car notice has arrived, I'm waiting find out from work exactly the date it was issued. However in the case everything was done correctly what are my chances of getting one offence cancelled due to the close proximity of the offences and only 3 points being applied? Thanks.

It is up to a court to decide if these count as one offence. If you want to fight it then engage a solicitor who is a specialist in this area.

Ultimately it would be up to a court to decide, but do you think that's worthwhile advice?

Look, it's very simple. EVERY SINGLE person who passed their driving test in the UK has known this at one point.

Are there repeaters? They tell you the limit.
No repeaters? Are there streetlights? 30.
    No repeaters or streetlights? NSL.
So what's NSL? Count the carriageways. One? 60. Two? 70.
Bingo. You always know the prevailing, enforceable speed limit, within a few hundred metres at most.

And, to pre-empt... That's for cars/motorcycles/small vans. Bigger stuff differs.
