Hi all
So I thought I would start a diary since I have just joined this site to keep me on track and get rid of this debt once and for all!
So here goes......
Facts about me:
. I have been in debt for 14 years ( up,down,up,down)
. I recently got back into debt to help a family member who was about to get re possessed due to their irrational spendings over the years. ( they lost job so couldn't pay the debts back)
. In 2012 I realised that although I love my family, I really needed to learn to put my foot down as my increasing debt was due to paying towards their mortgage And then having to borrow from short term pay day loans to be able to get by ( honestly I dont know what I was doing either!!)
. I have a 2nd job to increase my income which I started in Jan 2012
. I am absolutely determined to pay my debt off by dec 2013 and keep it that way - it is my pledge to all my DFW family!
. My biggest challenge this year is realising I cannot go out as often or keep shopping using my bar work money ask need to pay my debt
. I pledge to keep coming on here so I can keep focused and motivated!
. My current debts total £10.9k
. I earn +£30k
. I have set myself up on some challenges to reach my dec 13 goal and also to remind myself of my determination
. I am single - do not want my past to affect my future though!
My dreams of what debt free lifestyle could look like:
. Able to pop out for dinner with friends if I wish to
. No sleepless nights
. No dread on pay day on how much I am left with
. No fear of the postman!
. Savings!!
. No panic of only having £3 in account but possible debts coming out
. No worry of how I am going to pay for things if something breaks
. Ability to treat myself to something I like once in a while
. Affording that cocktail on the beach without worry of bills back home
I hope you join me on my journey, I'm really excited to tackle this mountain of debt once and for all!

Hi Diva, I've moved your diary over to the diaries board so it doesn't get lost in the DFW threads.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Morning diary,
So today is going to be a spend day rather than a NSD day! I recently broke my nail and was going to go a date so I got some falsies on whilst the 3 broke nails grew back. Now it's time to get them soaked off and then maintain my own nails again as I can't get into the habit of the nail shop!
On the plus side - I am working tonight in my second job so at least I have some extra income towards my 1% at a time challenge :-)
Good luck today everyone xStarted again 25th December 2017

Woo hoo so worked last night and came home with £92!!!!!
Then today came into work to a bottle of wine and £50 for doing a lift share for 2 weeks ( colleague car was in garage for 2weeks)
Sooooo I have : £257.85! ( inc. £35 from last weekend shift)
Here's for the bad bits - I need to pay £25 for weight loss group tonight and £40 for petrol on Friday. But then I am working again this weekend to bump it back up as I have my money shop payment coming out on the 14th
I can't pay it all but thought to pay interest (£85 ish) + money off balance to be able to clear following month?
Thoughts please?

Hey DD,
Well done on all the steps you have taken so far, including the 2nd job - that is mighty impressive.
As for MoneyShop, I am not an expert but my view would be to pay off as much as you can and roll over as little as you can.
Good luck on your journey.
