Voicemail is provided by your network, not your phone, so you would need to contact your network provider.

Just blocking on your phone may stop a call going to voicemail when you phone is on (and has signal) but it can't prevent it if the phone is off or in a signal blackspot.
  • Thankyou , I have rung EE and they can't help , I can't even delete the v/m facility

When I was with Orange, there was an option to switch off the voicemail facility. It involved a phone call, but it was all do-able.

Likewise with 3 mobile. One call to their service centre resulted in the voicemail facility being turned off. I'd be surprised if a major network like EE didn't offer this.

Thinking about it... Orange became EE!

Yes, I'm with Three now as well - I phoned to switch off the voicemail and then I can chose to switch it back on again as I like using GSM codes IIRC.

    Yes you can.

    Send a text saying

    voicemail divert off

    to the number 150

Alternatively, call 150 and tell them to turn it off

    Interesting. For EE?

Can one toggle it on and off as often as you wish by that text message option?

Presumably "voicemail divert on" to get it going again?

Some phones (like my Sony) come with their own voice mail built into the device and can be switched on or off regardless of network.

    ^^ Pretty sure they dont
The setting you are changing on your phone just decides wether it diverts to the carrier voicemail or not.

"Divert on no answer", "divert when busy" etc
