    Hi all!

Villagelife – much as I like the idea of leaving a room tidier than when I entered it, that may be a challenge too far at the moment! But one day...
retiredinfrance – like you, I was given the fabric. Had I used it when I got it, it would have been fine; but, also like you, I didn’t get round to it. Until I asked the Salvation Army, I wouldn’t say the CSs were astounded so much as negative! Instant Neighbour, for instance, would only accept it if it was made into curtains...
Just looked back on my numbering system  & no, my DSis did not open 53 cans :rotfl: - my starting point is B731 :rotfl:
I didn't like to ask... :rotfl:

The effort to gradually bring the much-neglected flat back into order continues. Bathroom and kitchen S&S and chores done – including (*gasp*) both ovens! I have a routine from before various injuries and illnesses, which fell by the wayside. After a full week of doing everything I’m supposed to do in them (according to my list) these 2 rooms are much better. Cupboards etc can wait until the Room of Doom is sorted.

One good thing is that I’m no longer doing this by myself; which is good, because a lot of the decisions required DD’s input and, frankly, at first she wasn’t up to much. (Neither was I - it was overwhelming). I’m glad to say that now she’s getting on top of things and seems more or less back to her old self. But I’ve been taking it slowly for the last couple of days. This doesn’t mean nothing’s happened. I’ve dug out a couple of tables I’m hoping to sell and DD has plonked various boxes in the middle of the RoD for her brother to look through, as it’s his stuff.

On Saturday I completely finished the Ironing Backlog :j and sorted one bag of assorted papers, books and general ‘stuff’ that was 'waiting to be sorted.' Now it has been.

Today I cleared the top of my dresser. There was my stuff, DD’s stuff (she’s been using my room when she stays because it’s quieter) and general ‘put down for later’ rubbish. Now it’s put away, organised or binned. And that’s about it.

So, what’s gone over the last 2 days:
    02.06.2018 – 15lbs
    Ironing Backlog, 7lbs
    Recycling, 3lbs
    Assorted rubbish (binned), 0.75lbs
    Books to bookshelf, 3.75lbs
    2-hole punch, 0.5lbs

    03.06.2018 – 7.25lbs
General rubbish from my dresser (binned), 2.25lbs
    DD's stuff (nail varnish/cosmetics etc), 2.5lbs
    My stuff (brushes/medication etc), 1.5lbs
    Recycling, 1lb

    Totals
    Days’ Totals 22.25lbs
    Running total 1184.5lbs

    Onwards and upwards...

A fairly busy few days for me, with not much time in the house, but have moved some bags to the car, clothes and crockery for the charity shop, and some things for a friend. Will count them once delivered. Still going through the bathroom storage tower, and cube storage.

Plans for this week - some garden decluttering, and starting paperwork sorting and thinning out.

    1. IF I NOTICE SOME SMALL TASK NEEDS DOING - I WILL DO IT IMMEDIATELY

    2. I WILL LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I WENT IN - WITHOUT HIDING THE CLUTTER EXCEPT for the wardrobe room which is currently the storage room (sr)

Having quite a good day today :rotfl: have been in 5 rooms & managed both 1. & 2. In all five :rotfl:

Kitchen - gave yesterday’s washing 20 mins in the td, folded & put away. Washed up, dried & put away all crockery, pots & pans & cutlery & have been washing up as & when, one more double shelf emptied & stuff on work top ready for decisions :rotfl:

Living room - wash bag finally taken to bathroom :rotfl: only taken 11 days :o

Bathroom - cleaned bath (so DSis could have a soak), removed decorating stuff to sr

Spare room - stacked empty cardboard box so not in the way :rotfl:

My bedroom - made bed & tidied away clothing.

Nothing decluttered so far - except some toast :D

basketcase, you really are doing well :T & your successes really spur me on :rotfl::T. Glad your DD is getting better & helping out.

Molillie, hope you get to make your deliveries soon:) & hope you enjoyed your time out of the house :)

    See you later

After such a good start, I have fallen by the wayside :o Went shopping with DSis & regardless of the list I prepared she just went off picking up this & that  Walked there & back to MrA so I might have decluttered a lb :rotfl: Walked round the dock & saw Canada Geese, coots, lots of mallards (all Male), nesting coots & nesting grebes with 4 eggs :) + seagulls. The swans were noticeable by their absence :(

Have decided to donate the following to cs

    B772 Le Creuset casserole dish
B773 Metal Colander with a long handle

    B774 Plastic peg bag

Need to get a move on & clean the shelf & return the rest of the stuff before I start dinner but I am now in a cba mood :( :rotfl:

cba does not cut it :rotfl: so emptied the 2nd double shelf - cannot see any worktop now:rotfl:
Scrubbed both shelves & rearranged everything :D

B775 Baking tray for cs (once I have cleaned it :rotfl:)

B776 - B779 One stray saucepan lid, omelette pan & frying pan (no longer non-stick:eek:) & a manky plastic chopping board - ALL BINNED
B780 Plastic milk carton rinsed & recycled

Now have three cupboards left to sort (probably tomorrow) + the food cupboard + the drawers (which I am not looking forward to as I think there are more ‘aspirational’ items stored there :o)

    Hi all!
Molillie – I think sometimes you get more done if you take it in easy stages and have a break. I hope you enjoy the garden as well as decluttering it.
basketcase, you really are doing well :T & your successes really spur me on :rotfl::T. Glad your DD is getting better & helping out.

Mrs SD – the feeling is mutual...:blushing::D Seriously, I can't get over the fact that this is your 2nd 2018, plus all the stuff in France!

You’re doing fantastically on the home front – so another WELL DONE! And your chucking out abilities continue to amaze. A Le Creuset casserole eh? Hm... I bet that weighs a ton. *Tootles off to check in Bugs Bunny Cupboard...*

Dragging self out of bed at 6.30 and sleep-cleaning is definitely paying off. S&S +1 done in both kitchen and bathroom. Fortunately, one thing I didn’t let slide was the bathroom swish n swipe. (You know how FlyLady goes on about a shiny sink? With me it was always a shiny loo!) Same in the kitchen, to some extent. My mother taught us that washing up included wiping the work surfaces, draining board and sink, which has been useful. The rest of the place may fall down around me, but the work surfaces have been cleaned and the loo sparkles! :D

Bed made after airing and a general tidy up of bedroom. The Cunning Plan is to re-establish previous habits one at a time by doing the basics and adding to them, a la SlobLady.

GOOD NEWS! The futon/sofabed + cover, several lots of clothes suitable for rags, a kettle, a breadmaker and a pile of winter jackets have left the building.:T They’re gone. :j (If you’re still in Franglais mode, Mrs SD, they’ve disparued complètement!) :j:T:j

We hoiked a few more things out for sorting, but obviously I won’t count those till they leave the premises. There are some old magazines to recycle; some games for DS to sell and VHS tapes. And then there are the books. Ooooooooooooooooooh, the books... Oh, and the Council did show up and take the microwave. It’s amazing, I can actually feel the energy returning as the literal weight is removed. (Presumably, this is what Kondo-ists call Woo?)

We also dragged a suitcase off the top of the bookcase and found that it was filled with some of my old clothes. Some are classic shirts that don’t date and I’m determined to fit into again. (If not, DD’s the size I was then and can use them as office gear – they genuinely are classics!)

There was some 1980s gear in it too, which DD’s eying up – she loves the 80s – and she reckons a couple of the items might sell because they’re "vintage and in excellent condition". Cheers, DD... So, I’ve washed the lot and she’s going to have a trying-on session, which promises to be fun. Question is, do I let her have my primrose yellow, complete-with-shoulder-pads boiler suit?! Decisions, decisions...:rotfl:

Anyway, enough of this frivolity.:D Today’s totals are:
    Futon, 85lbs
    Breadmaker, 9lbs
    Kettle, 2.25lbs
    Winter jackets, 13lbs
Other stuff already included in the count

    Totals
    Day’s Total 109.25lbs
    Running total 1293.75lbs

Good luck with the decluttering all.

F781 Cardboard box dismantled & recycled

The pans & lid have been retrieved from the bin - DH is taking them to the Tip :D

basketcase, you are an absolute marvel :T & please continue to be frivolous :D I absolutely love the idea of a fashion show - I hope your DD is going to do the catwalk :rotfl: & practice her ‘flouncing’ & hair flicking :rotfl: Have you found the shoes that go with the outfits?
You didn’t mention your DD was a comedienne :rotfl: ‘vintage’ indeed :rotfl: Extrapolating from your previous posts it really sounds like your DD is on the mend & I admire you for the calm way you have helped her get back to herself. You both sound like very strong women :)

Re the Le Creuset - used a luggage scale to weigh it - I almost can’t believe it over 6.5 lbs

Did the Bugs Bunny Cupboard yield any Le Creuset :rotfl:

I will say Bon nuit :)

Good evening one and all :)

The sun & a blue sky have finally put in an appearance but the breeze is rather chilly:(

DH has been busy in the back garden - strimming, pruning & digging up bamboo which has invaded from next door  + he has done a repair on the back door so it can be locked :):T
However, I think we need to replace it as it has never been quite right :o

:embarasse I got up late, didn’t get dressed until 1 p.m. :embarasse and have had a decidedly cba day :o Have managed to wash & dry the winter bedding - just have to fold & put away. The kettle has finally been descaled & the baking tray for cs has been thoroughly cleaned :)

The only other bits done today were hanging up DH’s motorcycle jacket, making the bed & washing down the windowsill in our bedroom :o

B782 UU descaler bottle - binned
B783 UU bicarbonate of soda pot - recycled
B784 Broken plant tray - binned
B785 Bag of garden waste for council collection
    B786 Kettle filter disposed of

A la Scarlett - Tomorrow is another day :D

DH & I will have the house to ourselves for a few hours tomorrow as DSis is meeting her best friend for lunch :T
So we can potter around in companionable silence:rotfl: & I can get back on track with the kitchen cupboards :D

    From a rather deflated

    Hi all!

    Guess what? :j
I’ve reached my ¾ target! :j:beer:_party_ Nobody’s more surprised than I am about that!

Looks like it's just you and me today, Mrs SD! :D

Have you found the shoes that go with the outfits?

Funny you should say that... :o:D

Re the Le Creuset - used a luggage scale to weigh it - I almost can’t believe it over 6.5 lbs  Did the Bugs Bunny Cupboard yield any Le Creuset :rotfl:

It mounts up, doesn't it? But alas, no Le Creuset in the Bugs Bunny Cupboard. I think it ran off with the motorcycle... :rotfl:
Don't get deflated, Mrs SD. You're doing so well. Hope you enjoyed your day with Mr SD.

    Today I have:
    • Fallen out of bed at 6.30
    • S&Sed kitchen and bathroom + cleaning breadbin/ toaster/ kettle/ microwave and bleaching loo and all drains.
    • Cleaned and stored DD's Toaster
    • Stripped bed and washed bedding
I was supposed to be dusting, but never got around to it, so I’ll do it tomorrow when I hoover.

A further foray into the RoD yielded the following (which, unless otherwise stated, were put away):
    Magazines (recycled), 5.5lbs
    Recycling, 1.75lbs
Specialist mags (collated in repurposed container and put away), 17lbs
    Books to bookshelf, 1lbs
    Socks, 0.25lbs
    Bottle of perfume, 0.5lbs
    Embroidery threads, 0.25lbs
Leathercare to use on sofas, 2.5lbs
Table 6x3 now put away in Bugs Bunny cupboard, 26.5lbs
    Towels, 2.25lbs
    DD's Toaster, 2.5lbs

    Totals
    Day’s Total 60lbs
    Running total 1353.75lbs

Good luck with the decluttering all.

Back again :D I was so ashamed of myself that I emptied one shelf out of the remaining cupboards :D All the stuff is now sitting on a worktop reminding me to sort it out tomorrow :rotfl:
Needless to say my kitchen is failing re no. 2 :rotfl:
However I will not beat myself up about it .........much :D. The bed linen was folded & put away :j

To give my total a small boost I ransacked my jewellery box & have the following for the cs:-

B787 - B804 All these items are costume jewellery - 6 pairs of earrings, a single earring, 2 bead necklaces, broken chain, 2 chains, 3 glittery ‘fake stones’ necklaces, wooden ‘Crescent Moon’ on a leather string necklace, small rectangular wicker basket & an empty necklace box.

My jewellery box is still fairly full but I am getting better at letting stuff go. This was my third visit to the jewellery box in a year :)

    So nwards & upwards :)
