Line take over- but not moving house

Last week I received a text from BT telling me that someone wanted to take over my line and I should call if this was not me or I was not moving out.
I called and got the request cancelled as this was not me requesting it. They confirmed it was done.
That night received an email saying sorry you were leaving etc- so I called up again. They confirmed one request had been stopped but there was another one in place now. I requested it to be cancelled.
Received another text on Friday saying as I was leaving I would owe them £400 (for tv, line and broadband). Called up and confirmed everything was cancelled. At this point due to the number of emails/ texts I complained as I had acted after the first one.
I spoke to complaints last night who said one was still open and they are having issues closing the request down. I am at a loss as to why this is the case?
They know who the other company is- Talk talk. But talk talk wont listen as I am not an account holder! I spoke to Sky yesterday and they have a department for this issue which is a line take over team. The person on the letter I received yesterday is not even me (its for someone I don't even know).
Whats the best course of action please? I am at my wits end going round in circles? I have never had to deal with this before.

Put a complaint in, whether its by letter or email, give a letter a try.
You tried sending BT a message on twitter (if your on twitter), just mention you've had various messages about your line being taken over but it isn't you instigating it.0 -
Already put a complaint it- it was the complaint handler that couldn't get the TalkTalk request to do a line take over cancelled0

Maybe call OFCOM for some advise?0

You have talked about receiving communication from BT about your line being taken over, apparently by Talk Talk, but then you mention talking to Sky. My package is a bundle with BT providing me with TV/ Broadband and phone line.
I think sky was providing TV as they tried to send someone a viewing card and SIM for there mobile (returned to sender).
Talk Talk sent a letter to same person yesterday- returned to sender yesterday. I have a parcel at the sorting office too and I am not really anticipating a parcel so would imagine it being a router for this guy!0 -
I'm not sure how Sky and then TT trying to takeover your line is 'BT's' fault, in fact the process seems to work , as you are finding out about these takeover requests and getting them stopped.
The thing to consider is are these requests due to someone trying to take over a line legitimately , but using the wrong address , or is it a malicious person, deliberately trying to mess with you ?
Is your address out if the ordinary , or one that could easily be mistaken, like 'Basement Flat', or 'Rose Cottage' if someone is trying to takeover a line at an address 'similar' to your address, and the Sky or TT employee hasn't checked the address closely , they may be entering orders for your address in error, mistaking it for the correct address, or perhaps the person trying to takeover the line has been given your address/postcode instead of the correct one.
BT ( I would think ) cannot arbitrarily just stop other company's entering orders into a common ordering system, so even if the TT order is stopped , it won't necessarily stop the person raising the orders, contacting Plusnet, Vodafone , or any if the many others that can raise orders and BT have to follow the industry process and send the 'sorry to see you go' email/letter/text, and you responding by saying its a error or a malicious order0 -

Post in the BT forum and a community guide/mod will pick up your post and deal with it. (Might take a couple of days). These are UK people and have much greater clout than normal phone support.0 -

Your best bet would be to open the mail, work out who it is and then tell the idiot where they actually live by tracking them down.
What did the letter say? In your position it really should have been opened by you to get information that you need (and there is no reason to not open any mail that comes to your house as the person is advisory and not part of the address (as long as you do nothing "evil" with it)).
Is there a nearby street with an additional word in it?
Or someone could just be out to get you.0 -
I guess it could even be a banking scam. If that number is registered with bank for one time pass code0
