A relaxing day of yoga, ice-cream with friends and a wander round the charity shops. (The 2 that are open on a Sunday!)

It was a bit spendy though, on ice cream/coffee, a top from Help the Aged, and a microwave steamer!! My old electric steamer had fallen a part and I was on the lookout for a new one, and this was perfect as it's pretty small and £3! I tried it out tonight for the veg with a roast beef dinner. :)

My new bathroom is being fitted this week, so I've been shopping online for some bathroom shelves, towel holders, mirror etc.
A local guy is doing the bathroom. He did the bathroom (and kitchen!) in my other house, and I loved it, so I've asked him to recreate the very same thing in the flat. The quote is £3200 for a complete new bathroom fitted, including the tiling. I've upgraded a couple of things so it will be a little bit more. I had a quote from a national company £8K!!!

The bank switch happens tomorrow, I don't think I've ever done a bank switch before, so I hope it goes smoothly!

No move on the Ebay bids, 5 days to go.

£101.58 left until the end of the month that's £8.45 a day til pay day.

The micro steamer was a bargain!:j
If I ever get to retire up your way you'll have to give me details of your plumber! That's a good price for the bathroom and his work is obviously very good as you're using him again.

Hope the switch goes through ok today.

Yes, he's very cheap, and finishes to a really good standard too. The switch has gone fine I think. We'll find out after the first of the month, hopefully my wages will go to the right place!

The job I turned up to do today was cancelled, and as there was nothing else in the area, I had to go home, what a shame, so that's me finished work now until Tuesday :T:T
Thats a few more spends than I anticipated, as had to do a shop when I got home.

As the plumber is starting the bathroom tomorrow, and I was home unexpectedly, I decided I'd refresh the ceiling paint before he started. What a mistake, as I started painting it, all the old paint peels off, so now I have flaky peeling ceiling and I've no idea what to do with it

Oh, I'm going to rename this Skinnylattes Spendy Diary

I've ordered a new washer/dryer, completely on a whim, last night, and now I'm going to attempt to justify it! Trying to dry clothes in a flat when it's raining is impossible, and I'm sick of clothes hanging everywhere, so I'm replacing the washer with a washer dryer, end of.

Rather than pay the £15 disposal fee, I advertised the washer for £30 providing someone was prepared to disconnect it and remove it from my first floor flat (they got a bargain). Well these 2 guys turned up (2 hours late), looking like the chuckle brothers, except not as intelligent. Disconnected my dishwasher instead of the washer and just about flooded the kitchen, luckily the bathroom fitter was there and came to the rescue. Then couldn't get it down the stairs as they were too unfit, and had the cheek to ask the bathroom fitter to help them. I really must give him a tip when he's finished.

So I'm washerless until Saturday when the new one arrives. I've ordered it through Very, on 9 months interest free credit. I like Very, you can make payments when you want, and it's really easy to do through the App.

I've googled flaky bathroom ceilings and it suggested scraping off as much as you can and then painting with 5-1 water & PVA glue. So I'm now covered in PVA glue and don't have a shower or a bath installed at the moment. :rotfl: It does look like it might work though. I'm going to have to get up early and try some paint on it.

DS is at his GFs til Saturday and DD is at a festival, so very quite here.

Fleabay bids at £52.49, and monthly payment from the egreeting cards arrived in Paypal of $151.

Actually had a no spend day today, it wasn't planned it just happened, so £74.30 left until the end of the month that's £8.26 a day til pay day. Did a very fast cycle tonight, so tired...need sleeps. Night all.

    Have to agree with MaW!:rotfl:

Your story about the Chuckle Brothers has inspired me to always pay the disposal fee!

I agree with you though re buying the washer drier. I have a small flat and find mine a godsend. I don't dry everything in it and still use a clothes horse but it certainly cuts down the amount of space needed for drying. And as I live in a hard water area my towels come out nice and soft rather than like hard boards!:D

I hope you managed to wash off the PVA glue ,:rotfl:

I'm really glad you find yours useful, that's made me feel a bit better about the spend! It arrived today, looks great, is SOOOO quiet, and it's half way though it's second load. So so far I'm really pleased.
Mum_and_Wife Your post did make me laugh, sorry
Don't be sorry, writing it made me laugh too!!

Today I posted 2 Fleabay sales. £93 for an old phone and a broken iPad. Including what's in my Paypal acc already, that's £179 overpayment to the mortgage. There seems to be an issue withdrawing it to my new bank account though, so it's stuck there at the moment.

The bathroom ceiling is now painted, and looks nearly normal. The walls are next (hate decorating it's so messy). I meant to get more done today, but it ended up a social day. Bike ride out with some friends for a cream skon, and then went out with DS and a friend this evening for tea. So a bit of a spendy day. £39.40 left until the end of the month that's £5.62 a day til pay day :o
