Coin meter is costing me £10 a day. What should I do?

    OP, just watch the meter`s rotating ring or barrel as its known. That will spin faster when more electric is being used. You can see it in action when you boil a kettle and it will spin very fast. Switch off all your appliances, fridge/freezer,computer monitors, tv and try and track down what is eating the £1 coin at great speed.
    If all your appliances are off, and that rotating metal ring is still spinning then possibly someone else has tapped into the supply

    Time for some photos tracing the wiring from the meter to the consumer unit - and a view of the consumer unit circuits?

    Is your shower an instantaneous electric one or does it come off your hot water system. If the first a 10min 8kw shower is costing you about 25p

    As above - do you have a hot water cylinder heated by an immersion heater. If so try switching it off.
