Today DH did the weekly shopping, armed with a list, and stuck to it...apart from buying some radishes, 4 pears & 2 bags of potatoes for 30p each. I wouldn't have minded about the potatoes but we've still got a bag and a half left from 2 weeks ago!! But he did manage to save £3.10 so I'll let him off...as long as he eats the radishes and pears in time

So that was £62.31 so far. Hopefully we'll have at least 3 NSD's due to the bank holiday.

I would like to join this month, please could you put me down for £100 for May?

I spent £10 today but we have so much in the cupboards and freezer that I shouldn't need to spend anything for the rest of the week
  • Did our first shop of the month yesterday and not pleased at all to have spent £78  I've had another look through and we didn't buy many 'extras' at all. And I forgot coffee  The f&v will have to last the whole week as there isn't any extra for a mid-week top up.

Not going to think about it too much and will try and stretch out what we've got.

Could you please put me down for £250 in May?

That is for 4 of us, me, hubbie, 3 year old son and 9 month old daughter (oh, and the dog).

Really want to cut down on grocery bill. Not sure how well I will do this month, as it is hubbie's and son's birthday in May. Plus I have 3 kiddies parties to take son to. But really want to crack on with this.

After the expense of last month and I need to build up my savings could you please put me down for £80

Freezer has a few meals in it. Mother gave me sausages left over from bbq so think some form of sausage casserole in slow cooker today. Will have a look at some of the recipe ideas to see if I can keep to budget this month.

First shop of May and I have spent £5.40 in Mr S and £37.68 in Mr T. Took advantage of the lidl voucher in the Mirror in Mr T and I was surprised they took it really when some people have had theirs refused.

We are having a roast chicken dinner today which I have half prepared I shall finish it when we get back from the allotment. Only going to do a couple of hours as I don't think this afternoon is going to be very nice :(

Take care everyone and have a nice bank holiday weekend :D

    Morning all

Spent £12.56 yesterday on milk, apples, bananas, noodles, biscuits, squash and coke. The coke is for the kids but I will only be buying 1 bottle at the weekends from now on - too £££!

Just done a freezer list and I've got a fair amount of stuff in there so now I'm going to mealplan until 18/5 - my next delivery - and try not to spend more than @£100 before then. This should keep me on track and gives about £6.25 a day as a rough guide.

Well done everybody on the gardening - we've got spuds, onions, peas, beans and tomatoes started but while I love planting things I'm not very good at getting good crops off them so thats this year's aim!

    Have a good weekend.
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.
