Great buy was the cambelt done on the car have you had to do many repairs.
I was told verbally that it was done but as there wasn't any paperwork I got it done myself. I've had a few bits to do but nothing major, all things that you'd expect on a 16 year old car and once done will not need doing for a long while - new front shocks (£80), new brakes all round (£100). I think the car is worth about £1200 if I come to sell so any money spent isn't wasted.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
MK4 Golf's are always worth spending money on. They're cracking motors and they're super comfortable to drive. I very nearly bought a white TDI before the Audi. I left thinking "I want that car", decided I would buy it a few days later only to find out it had been sold.
I would have undoubtedly had better luck with the Golf than the A4.0 -
Coming up on 3 months with the Fusion
Ave mpg so far is... 63.5mpg
it's proving to be a good big/little motor......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

coil spring gone maybe? get it checked before it ends up through the tyre....Could be something else, of course...Could be the spring? Could also be something like the drop link or suspension bushes. With it clanging it should be fairly easy to track down.BeenThroughItAll wrote: »"Came on suddenly"... almost certainly spring I would agree.
Just thought I'd update this and yes it turned out to be the coil spring. £80 at local indie garage to replace.0 -

OK, coming up to 6 months with the Fusion
Over the coldest, darkest 6 months, I've averaged 60.3 mpg
Saw the consumption drop as expected as it got darker & colder
it's on the rise again
MOT due in March, so we'll see how it is in the next couple of weeks.......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

Took the £10 Fusion for MoT this morning, it failed
BUT, it only failed on 4 brake lines, 3 of which were advisories on last MoT
£230 for the work and a fresh ticket, so £240 for 19 months motoring
(..and only £30 a year road tax and 60+ mpg to boot )......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

No, the MoT test fee was £30 - I don't count that as it's the same for every car you get, it has to be done no matter what so that's a fixed cost......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
