First post on MSE so here goes...
I want to change the handles (16 in total) on the double glazing in my house (simple Yale types, not the tilt-and-turn) plus some parts need replacing e.g. one lock, one hinge and a trickle vent cover. I estimate about £150 for parts and have been quoted £250 for labour and 2 people needed? Is that competitive? In my last home I got two windows installed for under £700 all in and that was two blokes. Thanks.

First of all you don't say where in the country you live. £700 for 2 windows a while ago sounds ridiculously cheap to me. I live on the outskirts of London, so prices tend to be pretty high compared to other places in the UK.
Two men at £250 for labour also sounds cheap, it's just £125 per day each for guys with the necessary skills. There are travel costs to be taken into account as well as the insurance cover they need too, so if I was quoted £250 for the labour for 2 guys I'd be more than happy. But as I say, costs vary in different parts of the country. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
