Tax year question

If I invest in a one year fixed rate bond, from May 2018 to May 2019, with the interest paid annually (ie once, at the end), does all the interest fall within the 2019-20 tax year, or is it apportioned to 11/12s this year and 1/12 next year?
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.

If you positively want interest to fall within 18/19 you could look for an account - probably an instant access one - that pays interest within the year (e.g. on 31st December or whatever) or that will pay interest in 18/19 because you would close the account before April 6th 2019.Free the dunston one next time too.0
