Hi All,
Can anyone guide me what should i do in the situation i am in.
My TV license expired on 31/07/2019 and i am due for renewal but the catch is i am renting right now and in the process of buying my own home. The expected house purchase completion is by the end of this month. Will it be OK if i dont renew till i get shifted in my own house and then get the license renewed or i should get it renewed right now.
Can anyone guide me what should i do in the situation i am in.

Your licence is per address, not per customer:

As long as you don't watch any live TV or use the iPlayer for catch up then you are fine without a licence.
If you do either of the above then you need one.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0 -
They need to prove you are watching live TV programs.
Impossible seeing that they have no legal right of entry and you can just close the door in their faces.Ex forum ambassador

Renew your Licence if you need one, and transfer it when you move.
This article gives a full breakdown of what the Licence covers, and when you can go without.

They need to prove you are watching live TV programs.
"Prove" doesn't really reflect the process they use. "Prove" in a legal sense - yes. But the reality for suspects is that it is a process based on a notional confession, and a confession form that is stacked against the suspect.
Who'd have thought that the scenario of the State Broadcaster enforcing a relatively minor piece of legislation would present such an opportunity for abusing the spirit and the letter of the law?0 -

Also don't record live TV to watch later.0
