Thanks very much for that Pebblesmax.

8 years went by between the first visit and the last so going round the hotels again was still viable but as it will only be 12 months between visits this time I wanted to see something a bit different.

The bus is no problem (once he gets on and gets the flaming scooter locked in the area it needs to go in, I was dying of embarrassment last time as the bus couldn't set off till the bar was locked down and the driver was getting quite impatient as he was struggling)

Thank you again and any other ideas much appreciated.

Ok brethren, help needed. Cab from airport to Platinum tonite. Been informed that they won't be picking us up so have to make our own way. I assume Swenson and Koval will be open at 8pm but taxi rip off is stirring around my head, been frightened by the consierge who informed me that limos are charging 2 hour minimum and the cheapest exec car would be $110 so god knows what a cab might cost if we get stuck in traffic for an hour.
I do have a plan though, I can hire a car for £20 to return it tomorrow, so a known price and not keep looking at the meter, suggestions please!
PS bought winter woollies so will be going skiing at Mt. Charleston this trip
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I'm sitting here bored and this is for those north of the border (Glasgow via Gatwick) ;) Decent prices for November 2015 over Thanksgiving

Tuesday 24th Novemebr to Tuesday 1st December, flights for 2 = £1037 Decent times, almost 15 hours going, 13 hours coming back.

Booking the Flamingo makes it £603 each (plus resort fee) which is pretty good .

Sadly my holidays are all booked for next year and I've only 1 day to play with :o

I've booked TC flights direct from Glasgow for June 15, we got a good deal at the time and settled just for the flights, also booked seats plus an extra suitcase as MrsMcP likes to shop :). I'm looking forward to 3-4 hours less travelling (hopefully ;)) and arriving home in Glasgow early in the morning.

I thought their hotel prices combined with flights at that time were not that that great when compared to LowCostUsa.

For those flying from London I'm assuming the BA flights will be even better value for November.

    Hi

good to hear you have booked up!
lat time my bro and I booked the mgm grand and flights from glasgow(july 14)
I recall when we went it was meant to be 10h 30mins flight but i think we arrived pretty early i think it took us 9h 55m and well we arrived before the ba and virgin flights so going through the bagage collection and sercurity was pretty quick!

hope you have a good one !!
  • I'm off to Vegas in May and just noticed there is a big fight on the day before we go. We are wanting to do a trip to the Grand Canyon by helicopter and also a cirque du soleil show, with vegas being quite busy, is it best we book before we go? (We want good seats for the show) and also, who should we book with if so?

We are staying at the Vdara, a couple of questions re taxis and tipping as we have never been to Vegas before/it's been a long time since I've been to America and I'm not sure of who to tip and how much! How much is a taxi to the Vdara from the airport and can we just pick one up from the airport?

As for tipping, do we tip at check in? (We have already upgraded as its for a 30th birthday) if so how much? Also how much in casinos for drinks? And when in restaurants, are tips already added to the bill? Just some general guidance would be good :-)
  • Oops just realised this is the 2014 thread, I will post on the new one!
