Thank you yes it was a bit of a shock to have lost my diary but Everything happens for a reason and maybe this is an opportunity.

So last night oh and I had a quick tea and then out for a drinks only date night, much cheaper than our usual meal out and good fun, and supporting the local pubs here.

Today has been a nsd. Bracing walk on the beach then quick lunch and boys off to friends for play dates. I’m doing a roast and organising lunches and food for the rest of the week later whilst the boys watch the football.

Next weekend ohs friends are coming to visit Friday and Saturday as a late birthday celebration, so 5 extra adults to cater for on Friday to Sunday. I’ll do a curry and a chilli on Friday night, bacon rolls on Saturday and Sunday morning, and get loads of rolls cheese, eggs and fine crisps and biscuits for lunches.

I’m finding that the goal of saving £1000 for the mortgage each month, plus £400 for travel really motivates me (especially the travel!).

This week I’ve put extra effort into not spending and saving including:
£20 plus lots of food in 6 mshops
An hour a day on ohs business (this is going well for him at present)
    No coffee shop spends
£40 groceries and being more organised when shopping so I only went once and froze bread etc.
Used a chemists voucher for cold remedies for oh and ds2 so nothing spent.

  • Also following along, so sorry you have lost your diary. And I am so impressed with the 1k a month goal, I am aiming for £170 and that's making me nervous!

I didn’t realise lots of diaries were going. That’s awful.

Had some terrible news and I can’t quite get my head around it. A School Mum friend passed away on Sunday whilst I was writing that post. She was only 40 and leaves a two year old and a 7 year old. Cancer. It’s so unfair.

I can do the obvious helping out with the children in the future and I can support my own children who are also shocked, but there really isn’t anything else to be done.

Had a good chat to my mum about the cancer in our family, and prompted me to look at the Nhs website to make sure I’m up to date.

It’s just awful and the little community here is shocked.

Hugging my boys extra tight and battening down the hatches against the weather. Feel better for posting :)
