I hope your knee held up during your race Munchin.

It's nice for your mum that you were able to be chauffeur as funerals are always difficult.

At least your weight is heading in the right direction :).

    Thanks SSG & HHD

Run was brilliant and I was 3 mins faster than I had run in training. We ran along towpath which was flooded and I don’t mean a puddle but proper foot deep in river water. It certainly added to the experience. The goody bag had a T-shirt, spot cream!!! & a McDonalds voucher :). McDonalds provided free coffee and apples. I saw people from old running days and they were cheering me on. Knee was fine but legs are a bit stiff today but that might be from dancing last night.

Went out with friends and was home by midnight - relatively cheap night as we were bought drinks - people out drinking all day and we benefitted from their tipsy generosity when we arrived late.

Today was a slobby day as I was ‘tired’:o.

This month has been so spendy with both eating out & going out. I also got my car insurance quote - £311. I’ve had to empty the annual spends budget and now need to save up for car service (overdue) and heating oil. The budget is currently empty.

I’ve said it before but this time next year the annual spends budget will be fully funded. I also need to be careful with the cash but I’ve already got plans for a girls night out next month and cinema tmw. I could say no but I did that for too many years. I just need to stop frittering and I will have enough money to go around :)

Well done on the race Munchin! to receiving the spot cream in the goody bag (how weird - they must have thought you were all teenagers!). But glad to read that you ended the day on a good note with lots of free drink!

Thank you all - yesterday was a seriously carp day in work and at lunchtime I went out for my run and came back in nice and calm and that is why I love being back into running :). Must admit the way today is shaping up I might need to go for a run right now and stay out all day :o.

I never thought I would agree with something Trump said but he was right about fake news. Mini version - I responded to a press query and was so careful on the wording and the moo cow has printed an article that distorts my response and manages to make it exciting and totally untrue. I'm grand with my response but just annoyed that I might get to spend another day dealing with queries that this has generated. Are we near the weekend yet :)?

Money front - I got paid today...and I'm skint ..but not really. April is going to be a tight month because I have committed myself to various events that involve fun :D. I'm just going to have to be super careful on the budgeting in other areas. I'm going shopping with my sister on Sat and I've been putting away £30 a month for the last 3 months to have that day out and see if there is any pretty things I can buy - sister is super critical with brilliant eye for clothes. Do I need it ...probably not but I have the budget to stick to.

Eating front - yikes I am a pound away from making it into the next stone category :). I'm still losing each week which is brilliant but it is small losses - 18lb gone now but still a bit to go. I do feel amazing for it and friends/colleagues are starting to comment.

Hopefully the day might get better :)

Great news on the weight loss. It will be fun to have a budget for guilt free spending on Saturday :).

I agree that exercise is great for stress busting.

Sorry to hear about the "fake news" incident Munchin. You must have been seething!

Wonderful to hear about your steady weight loss! Your eating and exercise routine is certainly paying off.

Enjoy your shopping trip with your sister. It sounds like it's going to be great fun!:)

    Morning all,

    Thanks SSG & HHD :).

Finally rolling into the weekend :). Sis is also going to dye my hair tmw which will save a few pennies and get rid of the grey. Really looking forward to tomorrow as we are going somewhere different to shop.

I edited the last post because I had made a mistake on my weight loss and I had lost 18lbs and this morning another pesky 1 disappeared and I now have 19lb gone :D. I started at 13stone 5lb and today I'm on the 12 stone mark - on the cusp of the 11stone category. Of course work are having a big breakfast this morning and I'm also out to lunch at a burger bar today - will have to do a bit of damage control.

Money front - I was tempted to go buy myself a 'proper' coffee this morning as a treat but then caught myself on and made a coffee which cost me £0. I do fall into the 'treat' mode quite a bit.

I have 2 big payments left for the year - car needs serviced and I need to get heating oil. I think I will book the car in during my leave in May and hopefully I can stretch the heating oil to June's pay. That should give me a few months in the clear to build up the nest egg.

Ok I have 2 papers to write today and I'm really really procrastinating as I don't have a clue what to write.
