    To use Guineapigsqueaks/Sa1sysoo words “A new thread for declutterbugs in 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019!"

I made a fairly good start in 2018 but 2019 is THE YEAR that I finally get to grips with a full declutter - I would like to have NO rooms/cupboards/drawers of Doom & I would like to have a revamped bathroom & fully decorated house My DH is going to be very busy

Plenty of options available on numbering the clutter out

2019 in 2019 or 52 in 52 weeks even 365 in 365 days & if you are feeling really adventurous a la basketcase - you can weigh the clutter out

Whichever you choose or you may choose not to number, we would love to hear both your success stories & your ways/methods of decluttering - they may not have worked for you but they may work for someone else

I am hoping that everyone who posted on the 2018 thread will also post on the 2019 thread

Welcome one and all and happy decluttering!

    MrsSD

P.S. Hope this works as it is my very first attempt at starting a Thread

    Hello everyone

I would like to join please I like the idea of 2019 things in 2019!

My aim is to sort out 1 drawer/cupboard/shelf a day. I decided in the middle of 2018 that I needed to declutter my house, I had 1 room full of carp that was meant to be a toy room for my son. So I eventually sorted 90% of that room out and it is now a toy room but there's a few drawers in there that need decluttering.

Yesterday I put a few bits up on FB for sale and free and got rid of a few of them (can I start my 2019 list now?) If so that would be 8 items gone! I have a bag full of toys that my son no longer plays with to either give away to my brothers little ones or sell on FB

I also have a friend collecting an old vaccum later on today so that will be number 8 gone

    1 - 3 old air freshners that I can't use
4 - box of straws I've had for years
    5 - 2 psarkling candle
    6 - 7 2 cups
    8- vaccum

    C xx

could i join in please, seriously need to declutter this house. wasn't sure how i would go about it but had a wee read through last years and the posts from this year and think i will go with 2019 in 2019. i could probably get 2019 just from my uni cupboard and paperwork bags/drawers/folders but hoping to get some bigger items decluttered too.

I am in for this year too. I need to go to home bargains for the foil containers I use to portion HM cottage pie, so my first step is to take the half boot full of donations put in there about two months ago to the charity shop. I have added another big bag of my daughters colouring books, annuals etc that she no longer uses. Seems at 10 we are moving past finding demo, disney princesses, my little pony and shopkins. She is suddenly seeming very grown up!

I really need to join in properly if I may.

I was getting on great earlier this year but was diagnosed with cancer in August. The decluttdring came to an end.....boo. Anyway next year I need to make a massive difference and get the house sorted once and for all. It would be nice for it to be done before being given the all clear or getting decluttered myself (Sorry I have a dark sense of humour).

As a procrastinator I may need an occasional kick up the bum.

    Good luck all.

I need to declutter in the new year too. I've just tidied up the kitchen a bit and put the bottles of water in the fridge and the empty wine bottles in bags for recycling. I keep buying sparkling water and I want to replace it with a soda stream instead.

I'm going to put the rubbish and recycling out later. I want to go through my underwear drawer and throw some away as I noticed that a few have holes!

Thanks to your wonderful thread, during 2018 I have shed so much stuff out the house, it's been recycled, sent to charity or in a rare instance binned.

I'd like to join as well please.

We're moving house so have made a good start, but I know there'll be more to do as we start packing and subsequently unpack. I'd rather not have to fill our house with storage furniture if we can help it!

I’d like to join please. I start off each year full of good intentions but usually fall by the wayside mid January. I spent most of 2017/early 2018 clearing out my dad’s house to sell after he’d moved into a Nursing Home. I still have a load of his ornaments, paperwork and photos/personal items here.

I have found after the kids left home my clutter has expanded to fit the newly created space. DD has moved home temporarily so the house looks like a hoarders paradise at the moment.

I’d like to try and declutter at least one item a day.

I'm in please. Going for 2019 as I need to get rid of stuff. The accumulation of a lot of it can be connected to MH issues, but just started therapy so hopefully getting better and getting tidier will go hand in hand.

Another day of decluttering has gone well
Have filled one plastic bag with rubbish, got a black bag sitting out in the yard with cardboard from all the boxes we've accumulated from Christmas. Have broke them down and put them in that, as there's too much for our small recycling box, so the bag can be set out with those on Friday again. Will be adding to the bag throughout the week, starting with the huge box that will need broke down when we take the New t.v. out of it tomorrow.

Listed a few items on eBay also to end tomorrow with 2 items already receiving bids

Have also started "decluttering" the huge amount of chocolate we have somehow managed to multiply since last week too. Will not be very good for my weight loss plan, but I have to declutter the food before I declutter the weight don't I. Plus it's Christmas and in not back to work for another week so my diet doesn't start till then

I'm in again this year too.

And actually starting in January this time!

I'm going to follow the thread until 1 January and continue weighing stuff until 2018. I've still not organised the computer so I'm not sure exactly how much I'll eventually clear. I doubt it'll be the full 2018 lbs, but it's not too far off, considering.

I'll try for 2019 items in 2019. May not make it, but you never know...

I also have a bit of weight to declutter. Not loads, but it's stubborn! Perhaps if I work at the decluttering really vigorously? I suspect more effort will be needed though. I like to blame it on being peri-menopausal, but it's chocolate really. And cheese. And roast potatoes .
I'm going to take down the Christmas decs tomorrow and pack them away in an organised fashion. So the house will look less cluttered. Also give the fridge a good sort before food shop arrives. I've transferred important dates to my 2019 calendar. I'll put 2018 calendar away in case I need to check anything, but I don't keep any further back than that.

Itís great to see so many declutterers joining in on here. Parsniphead sorry to hear your news, hope itís just decluttering stuff this year hun.

Last year I managed a rate of about a third of 2019. This year I want to focus on my daily effort rather than count items. I am going to challenge myself to at least 5 minutes a day this year. I am including digital decluttering and sorting/filing/renaming the photos on the computer too.

To allow for sickness and holidays Iím going to allow myself to get up to two weeks ahead or behind but only if it is a separate session in another room not just a 10 minute double session running on from 5 minutes if that makes sense.

    Another few bits gone yesterday!

9 - an old Baby Boy sign my son had (he's now 2 so doesn't really match his room anymore)
10 - Rug (unfortunately had to chuck it, cats claws kept getting stuck in it, son split something on it that would not come off and then cat threw up on it last night!)
