Hi everyone! I've been on a spending spree and a half - whoops! I went to Capture the Magic in Cambridge on Thursday, and bought loads of stuff!
I finally got a trimmer - a Woodware one, which I love! I've been trimming all the papers I've been able to so far.
I've bought loads of Christmas stuff, and have made my first five Christmas cards for this year.
I've decided to get some Promarkers, and wondered if anyone knew of any special offers on at the moment please? I thought about buying a set, or something."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
Ooh, I just went back and Soma has posted a link to half price Promarkers! Thank you!
They are http://www.cowlingandwilcox.com/display.aspx?search=promarker%20set if anyone is looking for them.
Right, so if I buy the 12 marker set, I get:
Henna, Ruby, Bright Orange, Canary, Sky Blue, Indigo Blue, Lime Green, Forest Green, Amethyst, Rose Pink, Cool Grey 4, Black.
Are there any 'must haves' that are missing? What does everyone use the most? I am particularly looking for ones to use at Christmas - are there any golds/silvers available? What do people use for skin tones? There is a skin tone set and a skin accents set - which is best please?
Is there a website that shows the colours that they are - because the site I am on just names them?
Sorry, I am completely new to promarkers! I hope someone takes pity on me!"There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
Jazabelle - Promarker colour chart that you can print off - http://www.letraset.com/craft/shopcontent.asp?type=ProMarkerColour
Colours for skin and hair were discussed a day or so ago from this page http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=2297333&page=603 post 12052 onwards
Sorry I can't get the linky thing to work still.
I like to buy mine singly so that I can get two or three close shades to blend but you might be better getting a set first to see what they're like then once you're hooked (you will be ) you can decide what colours you'd like from the chart you print off.
Hi everyone, just dashing in and out quickly. Will try and catch up tomorrow.0 -

Ooh, thank you! Sorry, didn't realise it had just been discussed - that's super helpful.
That chart will be great!
I've also ordered a wallet to keep them in! Eek, so excited!"There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -

I would recommend the Skin Tones set, though I only use 2 of the colours from that set as actual skin tone colours, but the other 3 come in handy too!
I would also recommend getting lighter shades of any darker colours you are getting, that way you can do some shading, though of course you can do it with multiple layers of the same colour too, but I found, when I first started buying them, I had all dark/bright colours and no pastels, and the pastels are really lovely to work with!
On another note, I have finished the image for people to put on their b**** to link back to this thread.
Please right click and save to your PC and upload to your own online photo storage.
If you are new to b***ing and don't know how to add it just follow these instructions:
1. In your 'you know what' click on 'Design'.
2. Where your sidebar is, whether it is on the left or right click on 'Add a Gadget'.
3. From the options given select 'HTML/JavaScript'.
4. When the new box bops up, type in a title, I chose 'I am a Member Of:'
5. In the content section I put the following code:<center><a href="http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=2297333"><img src="http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w22/SoulessTigress/craft/mseani.gif" /></a></center>
Yours will look like that also, but you will replace the last part with the location of where you have uploaded the image to.
6. Move the Gadget box to wherever you want to display it on your sidebar by dragging and dropping the box.
7. Hit save, and you are done!
PepPop, do you want me to try to put together a 'winners' blinkie?
Edited in: I heard back from the place where I won the $25 gift certificate, they have also included $5 towards shipping also, so that's good, and she said shipping to the UK would be fine as long as the package wasn't too heavy! I just need to decide what to spend it on LOL
I was thinking of maybe this, which has been on my wishlist for ages, and either a set to go with it, OR some ribbons & lace OR a MS punch OR another stamp??? ARGHHHHH

No probs Jazabelle, it's not easy keeping up as the thread moves quite quickly. Always ask, there's usually someone who remembers if anything has been recently discussed. Keep your PMs flat rather than standing on end. I keep mine in the little clear plastic trays that the cherry tomatoes come in, I can get six lying down in each tray and they then stack inside each other so don't take up much room. I'm not telling you how many trays I've got .0 -

That's great Soulie. Is there any way of doing it if you don't have online photo storage? I've tried doing it the "Add a Picture" way which I used for my winner and top 3 buttons but although I can add this one it's static and only shows "I'm a member of MSE" and doesn't blink.0 -
