30 hours childcare

Hi, has anyone applied?

We're eligible and applied but not received our code yet - anyone know how long this takes?

It's been over a week and we've not heard anything back yet

I understand that it takes a bit longer to get the code if one or both the parents are self employed, especially if there is not a full years worth of taxes paid. The site links into the HMRC site to do checks so some parents have been getting the code straight away, but others will need extra checks due to less information being available I have been told. There are a lot of applications at this time, so I understand there is a bit of a back log on the extra checks.

We are currently receiving it for our 4 year old son as it is being trialled early in North Yorkshire. From start to finish the process took a couple of weeks but I think thats because we were being guinea pigs.

I did try that, and some jobsworth said they can only see the same screen I can, but I will try again.

My son becomes eligible in September so got a bit of time. How far in advance do the nursery need the code?

Tried 9 times yesterday and twice today to apply over the phone.

The person gets so far and then their system says 'technical difficulties'

Really don't know what to do now :(
