DRO and PPI claim

Hi Dullville,
All PPI claims should be resolved before entering into a DRO. If the claim has already been made then normally you would need to wait and see what you would receive before starting the DRO application. If the award would exceed the asset limit then the money could be split fairly between the debts to reduce your assets back within the £1000 criteria, or (if the award is for less than £1000) it may be possible to keep some/ all of this. If you choose not to make the claim then normally you are relinquishing your right to resurrect the claim in the future.
Please be aware that if you did make a new PPI claim, and are successful in receiving a refund either during the DRO or shortly afterwards then the DRO can be revoked. This would be decided by the insolvency service on a case by case basis so you need to be very careful.
