I am wondering whether the bonus is limited to stop it being paid multiple times for a customer. I cannot see anything that says so in the T&C's. What does everyone else think ?0

It's under 2. What is the offer?0 -
Okay, thanks, but where is it stated that NatWest's OLB system is set up to not allow card readers to be enabled/activated until two to three days after one has been ordered?
This appears to be confirmed by various people's reports of the card reader enablement being allowed on the second or third day after ordering one. However, as you say, you are just guessing. I don't quite follow EachPenny's suggestion to phone NatWest to enquire why it WAS possible to enable a card reader 5 minutes after ordering
The difference is the security aspects of the reader enablement process are not clearly laid out, but if I found my experience of the process was very different to the experience of other people then my suspicions would be raised - just as they would be if I ordered the reader at 5pm on one day and found it on my doormat at 6am the following day.
With bank security and fraud anything out of the normal ought to raise suspicions. And as calling NatWest is free there isn't a lot to lose. But nobody is being obliged to if they personally don't think it necessary."In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0 -
Well ive done some digging.
If there was a problem with my id then the switch should not have happened.
It clearly states that in the switching guarantee document.
I've also checked my credit rating for any flags. Pleasingly my rating is 999 out of 999 and there are no markers.
So as soon as i get my £125 i'm off to a proper bank!!!0 -

Careful - going to another bank will cause that credit rating to drop!I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -
Simple. Tell them you have not got a valid passport or a drivers license so what other documents can you provide them to open your account.0

Hi EachPenny,
Thanks for your input and you make raise some very insightful points but as you say nobody is obliged to act upon our insights.
If I was able to use a card reader successfully 5 minutes after requesting it the last thing I would do is phone NatWest to ask if this indicated a problem.0 -

Well yes but the way natwest have frozen me out of my account the day it switched is astonishing.
I have.bills to pay and child maintenance. And the arrogance of their staff beggars belief, even telling me that they are doing checks on me!
They should never have opened the account if there were concerns. I've had a terrible weekend stressing over this. It really is unbelievable that they were quite happy to open an account for someone, transfer all money from his old bank and that very day put a stop on the account.0 -
Just to follow up on the card reader. What didn't work for me on Friday (1 day after ordering) does work today - so I was able to "enable" an old co-op card reader which is working perfectly and allowing transfers out.0

Question, does the £1,500 need to be paid in before or after the switch?
After right?0
