What counts as disability?

....you only need to have had the needs for 3 months and expect them to last for another 6.....
But does the need for 3 months need to be outside of the hospital environment? I am being discharged tomorrow, so do I start counting 3 months or can i claim already?
Also, will I be entitled to a blue badge for the vehicle, for easy parking, as I will need more room to get out of the car, which my wife will be driving.0 -
I'm not too sure about that. I know there's a question about hospital stays.
As for the blue badge - from what you've said, you have severe walking difficulties, right? That entitles one to a blue badge. You don't need DLA for this.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

...and sorry to keep bothering you, but who do I need to contact for a blue badge?0

Your local council. There should be information on their website which gives contact details.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Having spoken to my Council's Social Services, it appears that blue badges are only available to those with permanent disabilities, so hard luck for me.0 -

You can only get DLA if you have care and /or mobility needs. The care has to be from another person.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Finally I have a voice.
I was born partially sighted (I have one eye) and also have hearing problems. From birth I've had operations on my ears (grommets etc) which now at the age of 39, I need hearing aid(s) and suffer tinnitus from the perforations in both ear drums. I've had a number of corrective surgerys for a prosthesis but all have failed leaving me to wear an eye patch. Thats basically a summary, now the question is.... Am I disabled? I have been knocked back several times now over the years as I do not meet the 'standards' set out to be classed as disabled? Please help!0
