    Compression socks, yes.

    It's the sitting around immobile on long hauls flights, plus dehydration that is bad for you. In the same way that it's bad to sit like that at home or work, not getting up/walking about, drinking water etc. It's not about the altitude or pressure of the aeroplane (just in case you didn't know).

    But your link pretty much sums it up really.
    And I've been told extremely unlikely to have a DVT if already medicated due to a previous event.
    Feb 2008, 20year lifetime tracker with "Sproggit and Sylvester"... 0.14% + base for 2 years, then 0.99% + base for life of mortgage...base was 5.5% in 2008...but not for long. Credit to my mortgage broker

    Anyone else noticed how less likely it is that aircrew will come around offering water these days.
    I've found that in First, Business and Economy over the past year or more.
    It's your money. Except if it's the governments.

    I buy a bottle before my flight. But you can always get up and ask for water, which will also help to prevent DVT as your moving

    Yes, it always used to be a regular thing, but I've also noticed that it's not any more on recent flights I've taken.

    Posters have said go and ask for water.
    I do.
    I'm told only can have a cup not even a 330ml bottle of water.
    Not enough on 14 hr flight.

    Jet Airways (Indian) on flight from Delhi maybe came round...once?!
    Dreadful

    British Airways from Cape Town came round a few times- bottles of water available, other drinks such as fruit juice for help yourself

    Emirates that you mentioned you used will leave trays of it (and orange and apple juice) out in the galleys for you to help your self. There are also manual dispensers and little cups outside the toilets.
