Its not that much, I have Nectar AMEX with £10K limit so get 5 points per £1 spend. Some months I make £50-£60. If you use your AMEX for large purchases like Cars and holidays it really adds up. If you use it for business too its easily achievable. I also have it linked to a large number of Ebay accounts so it collects each time friends or family spend on Ebay"It is not the critic who counts..." - Theodore Roosevelt0

Sainsbobs is my closest supermarket, I use them less these days as they've nothing of interest ..... I managed to get up to about £3 after two years of trying. Stopped bothering after that as there are rules about how you spend it.... you have to be buying something worth more than £X AND be in your "home store", so I struggled to cash them in.0

I have £50 and desperately want to spend them .....but where??!! Can only see Argos and Sainsbury’s as options. Thought there used to be loads of places to spend them!0

The list has been reduced so unless you regularly shop at Sainsbury, Argos or Ebay its really not worth bothering. Occasionally you can use for fuel. The list has become very specialised, some others you might find useful include:

The Transpennine Express website is far better than those of Virgin Trains and LNER because you get Nectar points at the same rate but can book with any train operator.0

Saving up £7k in Nectar points seems... well, a bit pointless.
If he used them on his weekly shop, he could put the money he would have used into a savings account and earn interest (1.5% on £7k is £105). Then, in a couple of years when he has enough in that account, he can go to any travel agent and use the money.
I spend all my vouchers asap, as a previous commenter noted, the schemes may not be around tomorrow - or, like Nectar, they may change drastically. It used to be that 500 points was £5, now it's £2.50. Imaging having your £7k halved overnight! I wouldn't take the chance.
I used to work in Boots and we had a lady who was in almost every week (in fact, every day in the run up to Christmas). She had almost £1k of Advantage Card points and would constantly tell us how long she'd been saving them up and how she didn't want to spend them now. It had become a bit of a game to her, seeing how many she could collect, but I was always worried that she was basically wondering around with £1k in cash and everyone in the store knew it.MFW 2019 #61: £13,936.60/£20,0000 -
£7,000 would have meant spending 7000*200 = £1,400,000 - REALLY ?

If he did his weekly shopping at Sainsbury's it's unlikely he would of saved anything :-)"It is not the critic who counts..." - Theodore Roosevelt0 -

I'm seeing fewer differences in prices between Tesco, Asda and Sainsburys these days.
Anyway, you know what I meant in my comment - spending £100 per week at Sainsburys, paying with a £100 voucher and transfer £100 into a savings account would be more money saving than amassing 1.5 million Nectar points.MFW 2019 #61: £13,936.60/£20,0000
