After a crash do you think it makes sense to keep your car sell or salvage it

My car was rear ended. They says its a total loss due to repairs

Car still drives. No issues with mechanics just body work

I have a good quote.

Payment for total loss will clear finance
To make money work for me
To save and do great things with the family

    How old is the car?
    do you love it?
We may not win by protesting, but if we don’t protest we will lose.
If we stand up to them, there is always a chance we will win.

If just body work and no chassis damage, you have an acceptable quote for the repair and you plan to keep the car for a while then I would fix and keep.

Friend bought a cat C 15 year old car, only damage was to rear underneath bumper. Removed bumper and bashed out dent with lump of wood. Job done and all now looks fine
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
  • Car is 3 yrs old 22k miles and yes I love the car.

  • I tend to keep my cars for 5 years on average or longer.

To be written off at 3 years old its unlikely to be a cheap repair. Have you had independent quotes to repair the damage?
  • It just depends on how much money would want to spend. keeping old car is good but if you do not have any money problem just buy one.

There's your answer. If you love the car and can get it repaired within budget, then keep it. A car you know is almost always better than a 'new' one that is an unknown quantity.
If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.

OK You love the car and its 22,000 miles,
    how much to repair it?
do you have the cash to repair?
will they give you a loan car while its repaired?

1500 to fix which includes parts and labour

I will be able to pay for it

Wont have a loan car anymore but I am insured on a family members car so will have access to a car.
