Clarity Card vs PayPal exchange rates

Hi folks -
For information, I've just paid over £6000 via PayPal to a New Zealand company, in New Zealand dollars. I've got my Clarity Card set up on PayPal as a means of payment and used it to make the payment. It offered me the chance to pay with PayPal's rate, telling me what I'd be charged. I noted that, declined their offer and selected to take the card issuer's rate. It came in at over £300 cheaper, so well worth doing.

But I'm sure we already know this.

The same goes for when paying for something when abroad - use the card issuers rate not the shop/hotel/restaurants rate

at least it's offered the OP the chance to change rate. When I order through ebay, I always find you have to really keep your eyes peeled and dig deep to find the 'use bank/card provider conversion' option.

Hi - Yes I already knew that was the cheapest way to move money, just hadn't realised it would save that much
