Fly to Manchester, direct train from there to Blackpool.

Its about an hour by train, and should cost around £10

Most are direct too.
Easyjet fly from the international to Manchester, as do Ryanair i think now, and Flybe fly from the city.0 -
umm train services are down due to electrification (blackpool - manchester), they have been bussing in and out from preston for quite a while
not sure if this is valid now , but needs checking first0 -

Umm, the train services aren't 'down' they are still operating, there may be a bus service from Preston but the trains are still operating and on schedule. Still probably the most effective way to get to Blackpool0 -

So if their is a bus service from Preston the trains aren't operating.
You didnt say operating you said "down".
"The train services are down" implies the train services arent running. They are - they just have a bus substitution for one part of the journey. You dont even have to make your own way by bus - the bus is part of the train substitution service.
Not difficult and still the most effective way0 -
