Do any broadband providers offer speedy set up and connection? 23rd Oct 19 at 7:07 PM
We're due to move house on Friday and are wondering if any providers offer a package that they can set up in a couple of days.

From experience we normally wait 1-2 weeks to get our broadband connected - unless things have changed?

It's not something I've been able to Google, since all searches about "quick connection broadband" etc show up links to broadband with fast speeds!

    Thanks

Not a chance I'd have thought and the normal 2 weeks they quote can be 'flexible'.

Almost all go thru openreach so unlikely to make much difference.

When you go thru the signup process to can see available dates

    Eg NowTV or Vodafone

Not unless you are moving to a property with fttp in which case it could be a couple of working days (the time it takes for your new router to arrive).

After that it is all set up remotely as no one has to visit a cabinet in the street and local exchange to connect everything up.

the trick is to balance it so you lose the last few days at the old house and it's on when you move in at the new so you can get all your updating done, unless you are going from Virgin to Openreach or vice versa

It can be done, as the company I work for is an ISP, but its expensive. Your looking at 250 for "fast track" and it can be done in as little as 48 hours, but this is only for business broadband connections.

EDITED: or we supply our end users with a 4G modem for the downtime, if they don't want to pay.

Three mobile 4G bb. Go to three shop, buy router and sim, go home and plug in, job done. From 21 per month and you may even get 5G which is faster than bb.

Or order online for next day delivery.

When I moved it took ten days and during that time I used my mobile as a hotspot to connect my computer to the outside world. Worked reasonably well but I was grateful when the broadband was finally installed.
