Not been paid redundancy!

Options
Hi all,

I was made redundant on June 8th 2018 and still haven't received my redundancy.

The company was going to be liquidated but is still going, kept getting told this is happening that is happening and I'll get the money any day now, Friday at latest etc...

I was paid a full months wage at end of June I'm totally puzzled what's going on, I had worked there almost 19yrs so owed a decent sum

Any advice?

Thanks

If the company is not in liquidation, then this is a quite ordinary debt - you would have to make a claim to a tribunal for unpaid redundancy pay. Beefier you do that you could write formally to the company and tell them that if it isn't paid within 14 days you will begin legal action without further notice - that might be enough to force their hand.

However, I do have to warn you that having been made redundant before insolvency could be a problem if this isn't resolved, because as a former employee you did not have the same protections as existing employees if the company now folds.
