Pennyfrog, welcome to the Kondo party. I'm going to confess - after sorting my underwear drawers I laid my socks out neatly as per MK for about a year, maybe longer - and then I rebelled. It was just too annoying, they took up more room and the pairs didn't seem to stay together. Since my socks seem to last for ages and I don't recall ever having a problem with saggy elastic, I went back to rolling them. Both I and the socks are much happier (well, they haven't actually said so but I think I can tell :rotfl:) and the sock drawer sparks joy when I look in it.

Hope your shoulder soon recovers. Perhaps you need to buy lighter teabags?

I have to confess that my socks have always been stored as potatoes (so-called because of the shape) and always will - they work better that way for me :) However, folded and 'filed' knickers (and OH's boxers done in a similar fashion) bring me joy :D:D

I fold my socks and knickers. I folded OH's boxers for a while then got fed up with it so they are stacked in a drawer. Can't see that it makes much difference in terms of space or tidyness.

Walking past our hifi unit this morning I spotted a lot of dust and cobwebs down the side, so got OH to move it and I got in there with a vacuum. 2 more cat toys emerged.....

    Hi everyone....

After having a breakI'm back again. I have been kondoing my sheds, done two tip runs but probably have another 2 or 3 car loads to go. Im doing as much ofthe small stuff as I can and then the big stuff can go when I get a skip in the summer.

I have removed an old worn out carpet from one of the bedrooms, got rid of a chest of drawers, have had a tidy up in the loft and am now turning my attention to my wardrobe again.

I had been storing furniture at my sons house, went through it over the weekend and have decided to let it all go.

Bit by bit......it's a slow process but I'm starting to see light at the end of the tunnel.

OH painted some peeling bits on the shed a while back with the wrong colour stain. We'd run out of the original and bought some new of a similar but not identical colour, which we used a while back. When doing the touching up, OH used some of the original colour by mistake. On Tuesday he repainted the two visible sides in the new colour to cover up the patches. We had a couple of viewings on the house yesterday. I missed a couple of calls from the agent today, apparently we've had an offer from the first people and the second want a second viewing on Saturday when we also have some more first viewings. OH says if we get a decent offer he may even paint the other 2 sides of the shed...

Jumble at the sailing club on Monday and I'm gradually accruing a bag of bits to go. DH has donated a very nice heavy Jean jacket he doesn't like. I've added some tops and books. A neighbour offered me some dwarf bean plants there's only 2 of us so I thought about half a dozen - she's given me about 2 dozen so the surplus will also go to the jumble. This morning I had my local Freecycle email and someone wants concrete planters! I've got three that I've been meaning to post on there so hopefully this person will want them!

I went to my parents' for a long weekend and brought a bagful of items for the charity shop, and a bagful of rags with me for them to pass on. In return I was guven about six tops from my posh aunt, who is still decluttering. We are roughly the same size and she is rather well off, so the items are better quality then I normally would buy :). Not in return, but just because I like her and know she gets lonely (uncle passed in November, one daughter 'can't cope with all these emotions', and the other has MS, son-in-law has kidney problems...) I took my daughters to visit her on Sunday and we stayed for three hours. Daughters got into their play and just did not want to leave :D. I did her physio exercises with her, because she was afraid to fall.

Meanwhile, husband was supposed to look after my seedlings, and managed to kill almost all of them :( The kiwi berry plant has one small green bud left, so I hope it will recover in time. I have resown the tomato and basil seeds.

Second post today: we had an architect in :) She is not allowed to practise, because she works as a civil servant at the moment, but she was bursting with ideas when I showed her our plans. She will see if there is a fellow architect who will sign off on the paperwork, and then she can do the drawings and oversee the renovation. If all goes according to plan, we can start next summer. So, lots of kondoing to do beforehand, and lots of money to kondo next year, but all for a good cause :)

Our house is about 150 years old, has had several additions, one outside wall is sandstone without dampproofing (wet...), our office has no outside windows, the living room is dark, the kitchen has an albestos roof which is starting to leak. In combination with my severance pay and the possibility of a low interest mortgage, it seems that now is the time to do this. I like the village and the location of the house, and do not want to leave. House prices are sky rocketing at the moment, so we cannot afford a newer house here anymore.

    Morning all
Sorry intermittent kondoing here as I'm coming to terms with stuff.

Two big bags and a box of DVDs given to dd2 as she's trading some in at cex and they were earmarked for charity. Got a few bags in the hall that need to go to cs plus I've been crafting so used some fabric and wool stash up. I know it's not the proper order but at the mo I'm just doing what I can. X
