Have been looking for this thread makes me smile just have to wait and see. There doesn't seem a huge amount left in some of the London stores so will have to wait and see.

It's quite nice not having a hit list this year, but will keep popping in to see what the dud item is this year.

The shelves in our smaller local have been cleared (no doubt shipped back to the warehouse to go out to the larger stores later).

I'm on a mission to buy less this year, DD leaves school in June so there is less call for 'emergency birthday present of teenage girl bath stuff' in this house. Of course having a January birthday, I've got a double points coupon burning a hole in my pocket ;)

Anyway....... Here's my little list of dates (saved on my trusty laptop) for the sale going back the last 10 years:

    14 Jan 2009 (Thu - 3rd Wednesday after Christmas)
20 Jan 2010 (Fri - 4th Wednesday after Christmas) Bad weather delay
    19 Jan 2011 (Sat - 4rd Wednesday after Christmas)
    18 Jan 2012 (Sun - 4th Wednesday after Christmas)
    16 Jan 2013 (Tue - 4rd Wednesday after Christmas) 3am live online
    15 Jan 2014 (Wed - 3rd Wednesday after Christmas) 5am live online
    14 Jan 2015 (Thurs - 3th Wednesday after Christmas) 3.55am live online
    13 Jan 2016 (Fri - 3rd Wednesday after Christmas) 2.45 live online
20 Jan 2017 (Sun - 4th FRIDAY after Christmas) NOT ONLINE
19 Jan 2018 (Mon - 4th Friday after Christmas) NOT ONLINE

I'm making no predictions because I always get it wrong ;)

Quick heads up that I heard .

From Friday any Boots online order under £10 will be hit with £1.50 delivery charge. Orders instore will not be hit

Checked this morning and it has started. If I need stuff and it comes to less than £10 I'll just add something else to the order and then return it when I collect the order. Staff will soon get sick of people returning stuff and hopefully feed it back to the bosses and the charge will be removed. Fingers crossed.

Thanks Figgi for the warning - reliable info once again.

They don’t routinely return stuff to the warehouse from Christmas to send to larger stores due to the cost and time.

I noticed in the Boots in Waterfields Watford this morning already had the 70% off signage up (albeit on empty shelves). When I asked one of the assistants what was occurring, she said they had no idea when it was happening, just that they were preparing the shelves in readiness.

Local store was restocking lots this weekend, looked like almost as much on the shelves as there was pre Xmas.

Our local store is empty of Christmas gifts. Our local bigger one appeared to have less than there is usually at the 70% sale and I never get there until about 12ish
