large order placed on argos- crashed after authorisation.

Hi All

I put a large order on argos (836 pounds) , the transaction was authorised, but then an 'exit' button came up and when i pressed it i got an error.

On my online banking the transaction is shown as 'pending', but argos still have the item in my shopping basket.

I phoned argos and got a bit of a run around, first they said to call back in 30 mins, then to call back in another hour and finally i was told to call back tomorrow!!

Is it worth calling my bank? or is there nothing i can do? the transaction is showing against my available funds

You think the order may still go through even though it is not showing in 'my orders'?

I didnt click again, as i was worried about ordering it twice.

I think it's unlikely, but it could happen, if they are unpicking the problems manually.

Only Argos will be able to tell you the actual status once they've worked through it.

Well argos have said the order did not go through, that the money is in a 'holding account' and will come back in 5 days

Not the end of the world if true i guess!
