best way to spend? 25th May 09 at 4:54 PM
i used to have a nationwide current account which did not charge for using abroad. so all i ever took was a small amount of whatever the currency was and then just drew money from cash points as and when, then if i was making a purchase again would use debit card. i now no longer have this account and am now panicking about taking too much/not enough/expensive credit card etc. i have so far saved 500 which i will be taking with me in cash and hoping that should be enough. i am staying with friends in their villa up in the mountains so not much opportunity for impulse buys but there will be trips to the supermarket. they have cashpoint nearby but no bank. i have a barclays debit card, a barclaycard and a m & s credit card and the 500 will be changed into euros through post office before i go. does this sound like sufficent planning. any thoughts greatly appreciated. have realised recently have till now been bit like the queen carrying no cash lol
