Damage to car

Options
Looking for advice.
I purchased some large items from a shop yesterday and a staff member from the shop brought the items to my car on a large metal trolley. The staff member let go of the trolley and it rolled into my car, causing damage. Just wondering where I stand and if the shop would be liable for the cost of repair?

Stand out of the way of the trolley.

    And yes.

If the damage is minor, e.g. scratches or a small dent, I would consider letting this go, as your action might result in the store no longer allowing staff to help move good to customer's cars. If the damage is significant, you might have to claim though.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

The store will be insured against this kind of thing. I'd start by asking the manager to pay for the repair, they can claim from their insurance themselves.

Staff will have Liability Insurance, would need to take photos, write a letter and send to head office. Get a quote from two garages or maybe a mobile specialist.

The estimate for repair is £360 unfortunately :(

If you pursue it, you will also have to declare it as an incident (albeit non-fault) on your insurance and for the next 5 years.

You might want to weigh up what the impact of this might be against the £360.
