so close but feel like it's taking ages to get there

But (said she flipping back to the start of your diary)

1 You'd been in debt for around 10 years to build up to the amount you owed when you decided to go for it and zap it.

2 In just over 15 months, you have zapped (as near as a spit and a wish) HALF of that debt.

3 You are SAVING to avoid further debt ( to rightly have a bit of fun)

4 You are also continuing to pay what you can

Dear Lord! No-one could do any better than that !

For you monz :) debt is now £5535.54, 47.1% paid off.

Yesterday was a NSD. Today I'm away out to see my gran so will spend the £4 in my purse on that. I'll also spend some of the money left over in my account as we need cereal and fruit. I'll probably go and have a wee look around town today to see if there's any clothes I like which I can get with my vouchers.
    Debt Dec 2022 - £2972.68. Current debt - £0 (100% paid). Flat deposit - £10552.61/£15000 (70.4% saved). Emergency fund - £1428.98/£1500 (95.3% saved).

Thanks Boodedoo, you're right, it did take a long time for the debt to build up to the level at which I had my LBM so I can't expect it to disappear quickly. Just for some reason the last few months seem to have gone really slowly and I don't feel quite as motivated as I used to. However I guess motivation waxes and wanes for everyone here and I just have to keep going. I will get there :D

:mad::mad: 2nd job have just cancelled my shift on Sunday :mad::mad: I needed that shift to pay for my direct debits near the end of the month. Fingers crossed I manage to pick another shift up.

Yesterday I spent £3.85 on cereal and fruit, today will be a NSD. I have been to the gym this Morning so will get that updated in my signature.

Payslip is through so will get £89.16, add what's left in my account plus the £40 OH said he would give me and my budget for next week is £133.39.
    - £59.92 car club
    - £28.30 electricity bill
    - £5 present for gran
    - £20 food
    - £20 put by for direct debits
    - 17p emergency fund

Don't have a clue how I'm going to pay for spending money for the hen weekend or wedding as really I need to be putting away at least £50 a week but I'm not going to start stressing, something will turn up.!

  • What is the 'carclub' thats referenced? Is it necessary while things are a bit tight? How often do you need to pay circa £60 towards it?

Can you make your Grandmother something? Or spend some time with her instead, make her lunch?

The car club is for use of a car whenever I need it, the £60 is for last months use when I unfortunately used it quite a lot, usually it's not this high and so far this month I haven't used it at all.

I was originally planning to make her some nice biscuits but she has a sore mouth and is only eating very soft foods at the moment. Will have another think :)

Boo to the cancelled shift, don't panic too much though as you do usually manage to pick them up. And look how great you are at budgeting rigidly, you'll be absolutely fine MissT I'm sure of it.

I'm hopeful but 2nd job is really quiet at the moment, everyone I know who works for them has been moaning about the lack of shifts. If I don't, me and OH will muddle through somehow.

I walked home from work tonight so saved myself £2.25, not much I know but every little helps at the moment. I'm going to have a look through the freezer and cupboards tomorrow and do a meal plan so hopefully can spend as little as possible on groceries this week. Unfortunately this is the week where I need to buy washing powder, toilet rolls and bin bags but will try to keep costs down.
