    Can you open a help to buy isa and a stocks and shares isa in the same tax year?

    Yes you can as they are different types of ISA. What you can't do is subscribe (pay new money) into a H2B and a cash ISA as they are the same type of ISA

    There are 4 types of ISA:
    • cash ISAs
    • stocks and shares ISAs
    • innovative finance ISAs
    • Lifetime ISAs
    You can put money into one of each kind of ISA each tax year.
