Contactless not wanted on credit cards

Does anyone have any recommendations for credit cards that do not have contactless payment methods, or an account where you can have it disabled?

Regards

My Sainsbury’s and Virgin credit cards are contactless. Both are fairly new.

Buy one of those little slip wallets for it if you are worried about passerby scanning?

Is it it that you are worried in case the Contactless card is lost or stolen?

Pretty much all of them seem to be contactless now.

Why not use it ? It can save time at the checkouts.

Line your wallet in foil if you like or buy an RFID wallet.

Use cash or a top up card and only put a small amount on it.

If your concern is security, modern (EMV) contactless is incredibly secure. And if any fraud did occur you aren't liable.

Do not do anything to damage your card. If you do it technically voids the card and it also looks very suspicious.

I don't know of any cards without contactless, but Aqua uses Application Usage Control to make it so contactless only works for domestic transactions. That's the closest I know of to no contactless on a modern UK bank card... No foreign contactless.

My M&S Credit card doesn't have contactless (although I wish it did, it's so convenient). I got it last year, not sure if it has since changed.

Strangely it does support Android Pay, so same thing really, just phone used for payment not card directly.

My Sainsburys credit card and M&S cards dont have contactless, may have changed since they were taken out last year, just ask the credit card co.
  • Basic Co Op account Cashminder does not have contactless, unlike you I wanted it but I just put it on my iPhone and use Apple Pay, so it works fine for me. Been with Cashminder for more than 10 years and he newest card arrived this month, I am surprised that it does not have contactless and I know it is the basic account but nowadays contactless is useful for travel.
