    It is true.. It wasn't quite the same scam, but he deposited the fake cheque, not thinking it's actually get cleared. And it did, so he took the money as a cashiers cheque and put it in a safety deposit box at the same bank that cashed. When the bank realised it was fake, that's when the fun started.

    yeah, this has happened a few times anyway, i saw a guy on TV on night form USA, he got one of them cheques that catalogue companies and the like send u, to get you to neter their prize comp, all pre printed, your name and all on it, well he banked it, and it went through ok, as far as i recall he got to keep the money,

    Had to pop out and drink some beer and watch football. I knew I read it somewhere
  • I just got one of those Write-a-Cheque scams as well.
    I have no intention of clicking any links in that mail.
    Its clearly a scam since I have never even heard of them
    before. Just a little concerned that they already know my
    email, name and address. Where are they obtaining all this information ?
  • I received th email. For me it was an invitation to play Tiger Casino for an hour with a potential payout. I had previously played this casino on-line so they already had my name and address.
