Nice advertisement for trackers but Martin's so-called "achievement" doesn't stand up to scrutiny. Good grief, if he's burning 3,600 calories per day how many calories is he consuming for crying out loud. Conversely, if he's burning fat at that rate he would have disappeared by now.

As I said, a nice advertisement for trackers

Yea he is consuming a hell of a lot of calories.

An average man needs 2500 calories to maintain

Could be a mid life crisis.

    Martin says it himself:
Regular blog readers will know I'm obsessed with fitness tracking statistics
The facts are that fitness tracking can become a dangerous obsession and turn out to be more bad for us than good. This is not anything new and has been around for a few years now.

Personally I'm not so sure that Martin whose opinions are trusted by consumers should be promoting something that carries a health warning in its instruction to consult a doctor before proceeding (Fitbit):

Good for you Martin. My best was in the 80's when marathon running. Regular 60 mile a week. Now I take the bus lol.

Im getting a fitbit today, so excited. I have hummed and hahhed for a while but purchased a charge 3 yesterday, I wanted a good deal!
I have been tracking my steps for a while now on my phone but this does so much more plus I spin once a week so can track that too. I think the nudge function will work for me too as I sit at my desk for long periods of time.

3,600 calories 'every' (or average) day is very impressive. I lost about 16 kg last year, with moderate diet changes and massive exercise increase. To be fair I had a running injury which in the early stages, I thought stopped me from exercising, until I realised what it was doing to me (weight gain). So I took up hiking, biking and gym classes, and when I lost some (significant) weight, I started running again.

On my most active day, which I run about 7 miles in an hour (slow-ish I know, but I'm in my 60's) as well as a bit of weight training, I reckon I burn less than 3,000 calories, and although I run 3 times a week, hike often and weight train, I just can't compete with Martins' level. I would love to know what his Park run time is, he must be sub 20 mins.
Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop
