    Seems an awful lot of money for precious little return.

    And why pay Tesco £7.99 a month for a 10% discount that still leaves it around 15-20% more expensive than Aldi and Lidl across the average basket of groceries? Particularly when the quality of its own brands are no better - in fact arguably worse.

    You're have to make two shops of £40 a month to break even. It's just to boost their profits, not for the benefit of customers.

    Not recently. I find that Tesco has very much undercut aldi and lidl on their basic products.

    Quite - the usual Tesco attempts to boost profits and scam their customers.

    One of the many reasons we defected to Aldi and Lidl. Prices about 25-30% lower (except on very specific popular lines such as milk and eggs where Tesco know they have to compete), much quicker to get round the store and out, and none of the usual Tesco fake pricing.

    Will reserve judgement until there's more information - especially in relation to the 10% off and its limitations/exclusions.

    Agree with Smelly, they're cheaper than they used to be and now have regular fruit and veg deals priced at 29p/39p etc. so are on par with Aldi's Super Six offers.

    Tesco also regularly send us 10%-20% off conditional spend coupons, typically with week 1 coupons being £6 off £30 or £8 off £40 and the final weeks being £3/£4 off.

    Additionally, you can convert cashback payments from TCB into Tesco e-gift cards with an 8% uplift in value.

    Taking the above into value, they are cheaper than Aldi/Lidl for our household.

    I don't believe you and a (very) recent trot round a branch of Tesco makes me sure I am right. Cheaper than Sainsbury's? Yes. Than Aldii? Not a chance.

    and do you work at Aldi. if it was so clear cut everyone would shop there. For many people tesco is cheaper and better quality, the bigger range tesco have is just a fact.

    For the vast amount of families who shop at tesco 10% could easily be £15 a month less the £7.99 but with all the other perks.

    Will be interesting to see if dvds and alcohol get the 10% off
