Good Afternoon Everyone and Happy New Year!

Over the last 2 years, a number of us have committed to achieving a number of goals across financial, social, professional, physical and emotional areas of our lives.

By focusing our mind and efforts and committing to the achievement of achievable but challenging objectives we managed to successfully improve many areas of our lives.

And I'm back in 2016 to encourage peeps to sign up to it this year!

All you need to do is commit to 1 or more goal in 2016 (can be as many as you like but better to keep the list manageable!) either financial or non-financially related and then report back at a frequency determined by you! The more people who take part, the better as the more people the more accountability and the more support and encouragement!

So... are you up for it??? Join in now with your goal(s) for 2016.

NYD xx

    Double emergency fund to £2k.
Increase income to provide realistic opportunity of paying off final balance entirely when 0% deal expires in November.
    Have a (affordable) holiday.
Have more non-spend days than spend days
Remember not to stress too much, I am totally in control of my finances and life now and life is for living.

The 2015 version of this really helped, glad it is back NYD!

May I join, please? I read this thread in the days when I was a lurker on here and found it really inspiring.

My main goals for the year:

    1. Continue paying my debt, overpaying if/possible.

    2. Save £1500 in my emergency fund; aiming for £1000 by the end of May.

    3. Save £500 in rainy day fund.

    4. Use Amazon vouchers earned from surveys to pay for presents and treats for myself.

    5. Get off benefits — preferably by earning at least £90 per week through self-employment, or by getting a job if I am able (I have long term mental health problems which affect my ability to work).

    6. Lose 120lbs. Currently a smidge over 260lb and my initial target is 140lb.

    7. Meditate and do yoga regularly. I feel better when I do this, but don't get around to doing it often enough!

    8. Redraft my novel to a good standard.

    9. Try to get an agent, when the novel is in a decent state.

    10. Write the draft of another novel.

    11. Do an Arvon course — my mental health and finances may prevent this, but I would really like to go on a residential writing course and Arvon has a fabulous reputation. They do grants for people of limited means, but this would not cover the total cost.

    12. Submit at least 25 short stories to literary journals or competitions. These can be stories I've already written, as well as new ones.

I know my goals are ambitious, but I'm sick of my life and want to transform it as soon as I can. Being stuck in my current situation is taking its toll on my mental health, which is the reason I'm in my current situation. I don't want this to continue, so I need to take drastic action.
    Rainy day fund — 210/1000 Emergency fund — 1019/1500
    Loan — 424/19,224 = 2.2% Fun fund: 1/100 Credit card balance — 0

    Good morning,

Hope everyone is okay? I've been thinking about my goals for this year and they are as follows:

    1. Get rid of the debt
    2. Lose 2 1/2 stone
    3. Build a better relationship with my DS...he's getting older and the hormones are running riot.
    4. Look at getting DS to doctor regarding twitching. This is a difficult one as I already feel like a bad mum.
    5. Try to build up savings
    6. Currently doing dry January but not for charity, I want to do as many dry months this year as possible, should also help my weight loss.
    7. Get a new job, I love my job but not the company I work for. This seriously has to change this year.
    8. Declutter the house so we can put it on the market
    9. Decorate the house so we can put it on the market
    10. Be more organised
    11. Get both children to be more responsible and stop doing as much for them so they learn.
    12. Carry on saving change for Christmas
    13. Earn as many NSD's as possible - I'm bad a spending on silly stuff.
    14. Take my lunch to work as many days as possible.
    15. Spend time on me - Reading, tapestry or just having a nice long soak in the bath
    16. Get a good nights sleep
    17. Sort the housework out, stop procrastinating.
    18. Up my walking/exercise - will help my weight loss plan
    19. Maintain a good relationship with DD - she's in double figures this year and is growing too fast
    20. Maintain and improve relationship with DH, I love him to bits but feel like I'm neglecting him.
    21. Start emergency fund
    22. Spend more time together as a family
    23. Make more of an effort with my lovely friend and his wife, she's getting more fragile every day and I worry about both of them - try to ring once a week.

That's it for now, I'll try to update as I think of some more.
