Ford credit PPI

Hi all
Has anyone any advice on reclaiming PPI from ford finance? I bought my first car through them from a ford dealer in towards the end of 2005. I have no paperwork anymore unfortunately but I definitely had payment protection insurance on it.
On the Ford website it says you can only claim if your account was active after 2008. I bought the car in 2005 and paid off the finance towards the end of 2006.

That is only in respect of Plevin complaints. Not missale complaints.
