Sorry Becca, hope you don't mind that I'm bumped you down one place.
Finally had our 20 week scan on the NHS and all good so feel that I can add myself to the lists. It's been a nerve racking time but I'm delighted to have got this far. Still difficult when people ask if it's your first baby or not - I tend to say "it's the first we've got this far with, we've lost 6 before" - I don't feel like I can just ignore our angel babies - they are special to us too.

I had Lletz treatment just over a year ago (to remove precancerous cells from my cervix) and also my little girl was born at 34 weeks so it was recommended I had a cervical length scan to see that it wasn't shortening or open...anyway today was the day, I've been dying to know everything is ok so I can stop "nipping" everytime I bend down as I am convinced he is going to just drop out!
Our 20 week scan a couple of weeks ago was awful if Im honest, I was SO looking forward to it and the miserable sonographer made it clear he did NOT want to be at work that day...we got the measurements we needed (I know thats what the 20 week scan is for) but that was it, there was no eye contact, he didn't acknowledge my partner at all, no "oh look theres his face," or whatever, just "right we're done." We knew he was a boy but I didn't dare ask him to check...the lady this morning asked if we knew what we were having and I explained we are pretty sure boy, but I didn't dare ask the sonographer a couple of weeks ago for fear of having my head bitten off so she said "well crikey we can't leave you guessing lets have a look!" then proceeded to show me every part of him, after explaining that this was all about my cervix and not about baby
Just goes to show that just because scans are seen as clinical, they don't have to be a serious and solemn affair! I came out floating on air looking at his lovely profile on the photo she gave me (misery guts gave us none!) and best of all my cervix is long and closed.

Ah glad you had a nice lady this time dinky_dragon.
I've had to put my 20 week scan back by 2 days as OH can't get out of work on the original day of it as he is on a training course. Just praying now that it doesn't then clash with my grandma's funeral!
Feeling so tired today, didn't sleep very well. Been feeling really full the last two days, despite not eating much. Roll on the weekend! :rotfl:* Rainbow baby boy born 9th August 2016 *

Hello, well I'm very happy and excited to be joining this thread. Had my scan today and have been dated at 12 +2 with a due date of 12th September. I hope the next 8 weeks go quickly! !
Does anyone on here have a doppler? If so which one do you have and do you find it helps reassure you?0 -

Dinky .. I had monthly scans with my 6th after a 30 weeker and a 31 weeker and a 34 weeker .. for exactly the same reason.. but nothing ever changed until my waters broke at 35 weeks.. I realised it was pointless as things change so quickly. Delighted to be back home, flying was awful, people are so bloody rude. Only thing was cos the flight attendant asked me was I pregnant and let me have first pick on food! I was exhausted yesterday but I've slept for 14 hours and now I feel much better!
Lots of little kicks and flutters at the moment, such a lovely feeling.
Mum and MIL had wee presents for us when I got back for baby, was so nice!
I'm throwing my sisters hen party this weekend and need to go make some vodka jelly shots for the ladies. Got lovely cake ordered as well for Friday night and mum and I will be going to go buy some snacks for big sleepover on first night.
