Thanks loskie.. I actually used the tech advisor article to narrow down to the brand but then I found what to me looked like multiple models of the brand ranging from 200 to 700 plus so was getting a little lost as they all seemed to offer similar features,

well maybe there's a problem of too much choice and that many of them will fit your needs. You may not notice the subtle differences.

That's the problem with the internet: it can turn a simple decision into a needlessly complicated one.

How the hell did we manage without it?

Do you need an 8K image from the rear? If you do you will pay for it handsomely, 720p is adequate enough for regular dashcam use.

Thank you DUTR, the point is well made I don’t need an 8k one.. my tv is not even 50 percent of that and I actually watch that regularly... just want a reliable product that can be hard wired to the car with front rear and parking recording.. black vie seemed to fit the bill and had good reviews

But all the models looked similar and I started to struggle to see the difference

Was the article sponsored by Black Vue?

The best product sponsored by brand x is anything by brand x ???

Puzzled how you can choose the best camera by brand rather than actual camera models with the specs you require. There maybe better options.
Punctuation, Spelling and Grammar will be used sparingly. Due to rising costs of inflation.

Checked out the thinkware one.. the reviews seem to imply I need an external gps and to buy the entire kit as several components so probably too complex

I like the features of Blackvue but the price is a bit steep.
