    Hello all,
Welcome to the opening of the 2019 Cross Stitch and Craft Cafe. I've renamed the cafe to include 'craft' as lots of us do other crafts as well as cross stitch.
We love to see your makes, so please do post photos so we can see your lovely work.
The 2018 cafe thread is here

    Hi everyone,
I have news in that I've finished Pretty Little London - ta-dah!
    https://flic.kr/p/2hurc1p
Still have to collect my framed pieces. Unfortunately they don't take payments over the phone so I couldn't get my sister to collect. Will need to go down on a Saturday to pay in person. A bit annoying but there you go...
Next project will be Christmas related and of course need to start some cards for the exchange!
Great to 'see' you FoS xx
Waterlily - welcome! I love the design xx
Nmm - just seen the messages from you and that's fantastic news! Thanks so much for rallying support. I'll look forward to the details of those that want to take part. Would love to hook up with the old cafe members but I'm not on Faceache and feel really bitter about all social media tbh as it so evil and causes a lot of issues with our young people. Sorry if that's over dramatic but life events have made me this way
    Have a good evening all

Love PLL, the sun & rain cloud is perfect, sums up our weather well, haha. No worries about FB I understand after what you've been through, i'll get the details from everyone and message you. I've finished the 2 little baubles that came with the latest CSC, probably more Christmas stitching coming up too.

    Hi all,
I've started a new piece, it's Pretty Maids in a Row by Thomas Joseph. I bought this at the Black Sheep Brewery in Masham of all places and it remind me of my sisters Yorkshire holiday cottage. This will be framed and wrapped for a Christmas, so although not Christmas-themed like I had planned it will be part of her gift this year.
So far I've done about half:
    https://flic.kr/p/2hxShTn
and it's coming together really quickly which is good as I'm very behind this year with Christmas prep. Managed to get two youngest nephews presents yesterday, older teens will get cash and a little something to open. Wish we didn't do adult gifts anymore but no appetite for stopping just yet
    Hope you're all going well.

Coxy, pretty maids in a row is lovely, I can see its stitching up quickly, have you managed to finish it yet? Sorry for not posting recently, time seems to be vanishing atm. Not long till we start the card exchange, must find a design for that.

I have completed a couple of projects, the baubles free gift and a snowglobe from csc issue 261. got the latest issue but haven't looked at it yet. I've also been making some crochet items my latest finish was a bear made with the worst wool ever.

    Hi everyone,
    Latest update on Pretty Maids:
    https://flic.kr/p/2hDvcBs

It's stitching up nicely and has restored my love for stitching as Collecting Shells nearly finished me off! Talking of which, I collected my little ladies from the framers last weekend and will hopefully get them on the wall this weekend. I'm really pleased with them and worth the expense eeek!

The Christmas makes look lovely nmm. I went to WHS in my lunch break last week and was half tempted to buy a mag but put it back. Love the bear. What was up with the wool??

No stitching tonight as BFF is coming over and DH will go out with her DH. Hope to do some more this weekend and then onto Christmas cards.

Reminder to all to let me know if you want to take part, so I can organise the swap.
    Have a good day all,
    Coxy xx

Hi Coxy, glad you got your love for stitching back and that you're happy with the framed ladies, looking forward to the photos. I've only been doing small projects atm so will have to decide my next larger one, probably won't start it till after Christmas cards are done. The wool was similar to mohair but cheap and nasty, the hook was constantly getting stuck and the same issue when I was attaching the limbs. I expected it to be fluffier.

Oh nmm I see what you mean - looks very difficult to work with! Well done for persevering, the bear looks great
Had a good catch up with BFF last night. Had to take our car for a new window this morning following the vandalism (yes still hadn't got it fixed). Looking forward to lighting a scented candle, watching strictly and doing some stitching later.
Time to update my list too I think.

Pretty maids is great, your sister will love it, if you don't have any small frames try poundland, they do a decent range of frames, even saw some A3 size when I was in last. Made a start on my exchange piece today

    Hi all,
Another item ticked off my list - I've framed finally gingerbread trio. Used a charity shop frame and had to trim a mount - not all that neat but given it will only be out for a few weeks each year, I'm happy enough.
    https://flic.kr/p/2hHSHM7
Went to H0bbycraft today and got a black mount for Prett Maids. Need to get a frame 8" x 6" so will have a look in my stash and then charity shops before purchasing new. In case you're wondering - I didn't do the writing on it as don't really like words on my designs - apart from samplers of course lol!
I have to apply for my job this week This is for the permanent position as I'm currently on a contract until May but they've managed to secure headcount. This time of year is particularly hard for me and the family as nephews anniversary is coming up. Could do without the extra stress at work but not a lot I can do about it
I have rejoined the gym and have been three times this week which is helping my low mood, so all good.
Sorry for rambling on! Next time, more updates!

The gingerbread trio look great, the mount matches perfectly. Where I live we only have a couple of charity shops and they never have photo frames in the size I need, hence I end up in poundland. Although its rare that my projects fit in standard frames Good luck on the job application, thinking of you at this time of year, i remember it too Exercise really does help with your mood so keep up the good work of going to the gym, i'm a cheapskate so i do free workouts and daily Yoga from youtube.
