    hi everyone

New on here not new to debt was married for 10 years and we seperated so i took any debt that was in my name and he took his debt

By OMG what a mess got my credit card statement in and it was for 6000 and this was may last year but i've ploughed extra money into this credit card every month and i'm thrilled to say that in 16 months i am just above the 3000 mark

    Debts June 2009
    Capital One Card 6000
    BOS CC 1700
Car Finance This finished in August 2012 @ 124 a month fixed payments
DFS Couch This finishes 2013 @55.63 a month fixed payments

    Debts October 2010
Capital One Card 3245.39 Paying 200 a month into this
BOS CC 1559.81 Paying minimum payment of 34

I have cancelled my Capital One Card so just paying the balance off interest is roughly 50 a month but last year is was over 80 a month so saving 30 already

Also do not have my PIN number of the BOS Card either so haven't spent on wither card since June 2009

My plan is to concentrate on the Capital One Card and if i continue paying 200 a month i will have this cleared in 18 months so it'll be paid off in April 2012 but my aim is to have it paid off before xmas next year!!!!

The the BOS card will be paid off using the excess 200 plus the 34 it'll only take me 7 month to pay that off which by that time i'll only have paid the final instalment of my little car so i'll have 360 a month spare so will whack that into my couch.

well it's a plan and so far i've stuck to it for a year and feel good esp when my ex husband complaining he's up to his eyeballs on debt when he went on a spending spree and bought a 10 grand car

My kids are 8 and 4 and they are even getting into the frugal life my daughter heads to the sale rail of any clothes shop or the reduced counter at supermarkets and she loves getting bargain

    sorry to waffle on lol

sorry i've been awol been on everyday just not on my diary ...........sorry

    a lots been happening.....

Abbie's quit college I'm gutted for her but she says a weight has been lifted off her shoulders as she didn't think the course was right for her she is reapplying for another course but this wont start til next august as she wants to do music which she is amazing as as she can play the keyboard, piano and ukulele plus she sings as well. she says she wants to be a secondary school music teacher but shes afraid it'll be hard with her state of mind at the moment so I've told her to concentrate on the music side of things and then take the teacher section head on in a few years.

Shes now looking for a job to keep her mind busy so that's today's plan is to start applying for jobs within our area so at least shes not given up

Her cahms counselor has went on long term sick so we have no idea when her next counselling session will be as they wont let her see anyone else as it means Abbie starting over again with someone else after shes made so much progress with this counsellor so we need to go back to the doctors and see if we can get her prescribed anti depressants as this is what the counsellor had refered her to the psychotherapist for.

sinus infection still not cleared up had a constant headache for 3 and half a weeks and i'm miserable with it sch a moan i am

positive news is that I'll have the barclaycard cleared in about 2 weeks if not less as sat down and worked it all out then it'll be paying off the tiny bits on the other accounts then it'll be on to saving for xmas, need to write a list of what to get everyone this year and get organised.

right off to take the stuff i cleared out the boys room to the tip and then off to get stuff for dinner as having my gran, mil and fil round for dinner xx

That's a great result with Avon

Well done to Abbie for knowing what she wants and having a plan to get there. Good luck with the job hunt!

If she's keen to keep on learning while she's waiting, there's some great free sites out there - Future learn and Open Learn (which is the OU). They have some great short courses both interest based and academic based and you can get certificates of participation at the end so useful for her future CV. Open learn have one on teaching secondary music. It might be more advanced than she is looking for, but might be a good overview. https://www.open.edu/openlearn/education/teaching-secondary-music/content-section-1

It never rains but it pours..............from the kitchen ceiling

Been on at hubby as I suspected we had a leak in the bathroom as whenever someone uses the shower there was watering appearing in the kitchen however whenever I asked hubby to look at it it never got done so now I've taken matters into my own hands as I've phoned a plumber and they are coming out between 1pm and 5pm today, hopefully they can fix it within a hour as it's 65 per hour hoping it's something simple.

Bit of a pain but I'm glad we've not put the fake ceiling up in the kitchen yet otherwise this would have been missed

Also I switched my gas and electricity through uswitch, thought it was all done then realised I hadn't had any communication regarding the meter readings so phoned the new supplier to find out its got lost ????? I got confirmation from the company confirming my switch so someone is phoning me back but tbh their customer service has been lovely so I'll continue to switch over with them xx

Positives of today is toddler group has been cancelled again so saving pennies on bus fares, toddler fees and general walking about the shops and I sent 10 towards the barclaycard as Abbie paid me back a tenner she owed me so put it across there.

It's cold here heating is on but at least I'm getting a washing dry.........trying to remain positive

    Afternoon

Sent 96 something over to the barclaycard only 82.43 til the window loan is offically cleared then the 500 was the money I withdrew for mil who wanted to move but ended up not doing it so we bought the puppy with it this will be cleared next week when the council pay me for the hours they use with me

Told hubby the balance would be gone next week to say his face was like this was quite funny he genuinely looked shocked as he hasn't a clue how I tackle the debt and I intend to keep it that way. Told him we can get the car paint work fixed next week seeing as the balance will be cleared so he can pay the 200 to get it all fixed, saving a fortune as it's one of his car painter friends who's doing it, I got quoted 700 to fix the chips and the big scuff mark I put on the side of the car coming into the driveway

Also got a couple of people round to give me a quote for the regrouping of my bathroom........it's mostly tiled been told 250 so I need to regiggle some pennies round for next week and get it done as want the paper stripped in the bathroom and redone for Xmas

Got my avon all organised for tonight delivered 4 this morning and dropped off two books off, got one to drop off at the school at 3pm and one is getting collected before we head off to do our rounds.

Sorry I have been awol I have been debt busting but it's been a very stressful here in the abba household.

In a nutshell my daughter has moved out temporarily as she was wallowing in her anxiety / depression instead of trying to help herself and it all came to a head when my Kk age 6 had a panic attack on Monday.

Since I took a step back she's actually applied for jobs and has a interview next Friday but she's living temporarily with the bf and his family to see how it affects us as a household and also how it affects her if it actually makes her realise I'm not the bad person by asking her to get a job to support herself as we've lost about 400 a month since she's quit college but she still expected me to pay for her driving lessons not a chance

We had an emergency cahms appointment today for Abbie and they've said the boundaries I've put in place are not unreasonable and they've agreed to liaise with our doctor to get her on anti depressants which is a relief that they are finally listening to me and Abbie

Kk had another wee wobble today but I managed it better and his teacher has been fab very supportive

On the debt busting side of it is that the barclaycard is cleared so no more window loan to worry about and I cleared the Argos card today as well feels like a relief tbh. Only debt we have is the car finance and hubby's two credit cards

Next target .......write Xmas list and set a budget

And I've offically started my Xmas shopping got Kk two dragon toys for 18 as Argos have 20% off toys if you spend 20 or more so worked out cheaper than Tesco only one more dragon toy to get and he has the set

It's moving day for my best friend I've hired a van for her and hubby is going straight after work and helping her move but I had to put it on my Halifax dad but I'll clear this whenever I can get bothered so me and the boys are doing the avon tonight and hoping we can get finished by the time hubby and my friend gets here so we can help unpack the van so busy busy busy day

Sorry to read about the latest happenings abba.
Late teenage years are tough at the best of times.
    Poor wee Kk
You can only do your best.
400 a month is a huge hit for you.

Which CC is the next on the list for next year?
    How much?

Sounds like you've handled everything brilliantly. I hope abbie gets the help she needs and things improve for you all. Poor KK too, hope he's ok.

Well done on clearing the barclaycard
