Can someone advise me about viewing photos on a dvd player? 21st Oct 19 at 4:53 PM

Hi i have burned some photos onto a dvd-R disc using Ashampoo, then I tried to view them on my dad's DVD player. It starts off as loading, then comes up with the screens as shown above.

Wen we try to view the photo's a message come up saying data error. This is frustrating because the photo's show, but won't play.

I never had this problem while using Google Picassa. can someone explain clearly what i could be doing wrong please?

    Many thanks.

I don't use windows so don't know Ashampoo, but is there an option or checkbox to finalise session? Back when I did use windows, I used imgburn which worked ok, with no problems. It's free if you want to give it a go.

Is dvd the only way your dad can view the photos? So many other easier ways to share photos these days if your dad has a smart TV, usb socket, tablet, pc

Not all cd branded disks are the same. Not all players will read written cd. Some players will read usb sticks and CD that are a normal pc format. There is a difference between a store bought pressed cd and on that is lightly burn with a laser, this includes the colour spot difference, the size of the burn, and laser burn positioning.

if this cd has previously worked and now does not, it could be the media is duff or decaying or the drive could be on its way out.

If the cd works on another dvd player, then would say by 60% it is the the player, but it also could be the format, or the player only take dvd-r+ cds etc

Normally the cheaper players are the least picky

USB is the way to go, even my 10 yr old player has a USB socket, as does my TV, and USB sticks or cards are so cheap. I can't recall the last time I burnt a DVD or CS!
