There was a delay on the Circle Line this afternoon at which point a Tannoy message said something along the lines of “Tickets will be valid on local buses”

Anyone have any idea what this means in relation to TFL?

It means paper ticket. If you pay by oyster or contactless you're on your own. Buses are cheaper anyway.

So a £4.90 single gets you a bus transfer whereas any other form of payment i.e. £2.40 Oyster/contactless doesn't..... good old TFL!

Daily capping will however apply on Oyster or contactless, should the extra expenditure take you above the threshold.
No free lunch, and no free laptop
