I have recently been looking into a replacement for my old boiler and just wanted to check other people's experiences before I fully commit to something that may not be legit.

My situation is as follows, recently unemployed and claiming universal credit with my partner who is self employed but earns below any thresholds, we own a 4 bed detached house with a boiler that is easily 20+ years old.

Went to website boilergrants.org.uk who then arranged for company called the green Deal factory to make contact with me to discuss, had an initial conversation and went through details over the phone they then confirmed that would be eligible but is not free just greatly reduced and to expect a price of £900-£1400.

They sent out an inspector who measured and took photos for office to call me back to confirm what could have installed and price.

I received a phone call this morning to confirm a price of £1000 fully fitted which to me seems like a good deal considering the boiler alone would be pushing 1k and then fitting into a further couple of thousand.

Am just dubious if company is legit and that completely free boilers are no more? As I said am happy to pay 1k but if it is a company trying to get that extra when could get for free then obviously would want it free.

Anyone had any similar experiences with this company or another company?

    Many thanks in advance.

Hi, contact your energy company and apply under the ECO scheme. Normally any contribution, if any, is £200 or so.
If not the ECO scheme, your energy co., is still the first port of call.

A friend of mine was conned. Deals go through very quick. Repent at leisure with a crap installation that nobody wants to know about.
    Remember, TINSTAAFL.

    Good luck.

These facts tell you all you need to know about them.
    • They are using an 0845 number that costs up to 69p per minute.
    • They are breaking Ofcom regulations by failing to state the Service Charge that applies to their 0845 number.
    • They are breaking Ofcom regulations by failing to warn of the the Access Charge that applies to their 0845 number.

Does anyone have experience with RSTboilers?

I have a survey tomorrow, I qualify for the grant, but getting current boiler checked, it's a Ferroli the model that nearly bankrupted the company (yes that bad).

I have uploaded my proof of benefit, I have also gone for a Viessmann boiler (looking around these constantly come out as best boiler) and whether I get a grant or not I still get a free hive thermostat (hopefully).

Just wondered what experience others have with this company.

Help please I’ve had the survey and been advised I qualify but here is the thing. DWP can’t match me I assume it’s because I work for HMRC and my records are secure. I’ve gave the company my tax credit award but can’t proceed due to DWP so am now at a loss. Any advice??

    Hi Malc
I applied for the boiler and it said I qualified and would be contacted but I'm still waiting. I applied on August 23rd. I read your post which states 7-10 days so wonder if different areas take longer.
    Thanks for your help.
