Thank you for the positive vibes. I'm just feeling a bit sorry for myself today

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
I actually think that the cup of tea thing is an early example of mindfulness. Think of it. You make the tea. Sit there blowing on it or sipping it. Feeling the hot liquid warm your lips. Whilst you focus on that your mind doesn't wander. You are in the moment. Hence why it's so calming :)

  • I was doing surveys but nearly everyone said "sorry we have reached the quota" etc etc

I will try again may have more luck this time round. I suppose I am trying to run before I can walk. I do feel stuck though. Must be patient. Small steps is the answer I know that.

Are you signed up to YouGov?
Their surveys are more around current affairs and politics etc. I don't think I have ever been screened out of a survey with them but they only pay out at £50 but if you do all the surveys (usually 3 or 4 a week) it soon builds up.

Just to be cheeky - if you want a referral link I can give you one or you can just join on their website.

I do about 10 different survey companies and am often screened out but some give you a few points even when you are screened out so worth doing.
  • Hi EE and thanks for the heads up. I would like the link please. I will definitely give them a go

I need all the help I can get

    Thanks again

  • My brother in law refers to tea as irish penicillin as it's the answer to all problems for us. If it's accompanied by chocolate kimberleys, it's doubly effective (except for weightloss). When I was credit card debt clearing, I would sometimes look at the amount I avoided spending e.g. By not getting a take away, by doing something around the house myself. When you only have one payday a month, it's the only way to keep going.

  • Thanks INOD

I agree about being paid once a month.. My OH gets paid weekly and we use this to but the groceries and to budget for extra payments towards my snowball etc. Which is a bonus really I know but I have times where I want things to move quickly.

Other times I am happy to plod along. All part of the debt busting journey I should imagine.

I should be thankful that we are still managing to pay all bills etc on time and have no CCJs or defaults

This afternoon both DD and DS are out until early hours. Peace and quiet :j I may sit with OH and look at our budgets again and think about what to do if I were to be offered 0% deals.. I have had the deals that were on there expire and I never used them so I have a feeling I will be offered again soon.

I keep thinking that having 3 cards instead of 4 will be easier to pay down. Dont ask why I think this because I dont even know :rotfl:

We have 2 cards that are on 6.9% LOB so that's not too drastic.

However if he sees the amount of unused credit we have he will be like  "you know that car I wanted" Let me think, NOOOOO :rotfl:

  • Hi all.

Just posting a cheeky update as I am at work and not supposed to be on here :shhh:

I have made a payment to my target CC. :j. My statement just came in and I couldn't wait.

My overall debt total has gone down again :D. Bring on my other CC statements for January :T.

I needed this boost as I was getting impatient.

Will update more later (when I'm allowed)

  • Evening all

Is it only Tuesday, wow I feel like I've done a weeks work already

Well on the debt front I finally made a payment :j I am feeling a little more positive again now.

Since August I have managed to pay £4,897.27 off my debt total  I never thought this would've been possible. I have saved an emergency fund and have a sealed pot for Christmas that is feeling quite heavy now. :D

I shouldn't get down or lose focus like I do because when I think about it I HAVE made a difference however small. :T

I still have to make 3 more snowball payments to CCs this month yet so my total will go down again :j

Thank you all again for your support on my Long journey :A

Thanks Bear Loving the Mexican wave :)

I was just sitting here thinking, if I continue as I am (fingers crossed) by Christmas I could have paid back around £10,000 OMG I would be beside myself :rotfl::rotfl:

I hope and pray that I will be able to carry on :D

To see what a difference I have made in a short time it proves that with discipline and budgeting it can be done.

I intend to work harder on my target CC to get it down to ZERO :D

This has given me a huge boost
