Completion Photos?

My buyers have been strange throughout the whole process.

Has anyone here taken photos of the property they have sold (inside and outside) just before handover?
Might seem a bit over the top but want to cover any possible future claims by 'Mr & Mrs Weird'.

    I took photos too. It was the only chance I ever had to take photos of the house, completely empty. Sometimes the memory plays tricks, so an impartial record is good insurance against rose coloured specs syndrome.

    I certainly didn't do it because I distrusted the purchasers, who weren't the sort to make trouble. We're still friends with them 9 years on.

    If this makes me 'strange,' so be it.

    If you think about it,its no different to a rental inventory.
    You have a strange set of buyers and if you think that it may be necessary to document how the property is handed over then I see no reason not to snap away.

    If you've got the vibe that they could be trouble makers then yes, it would seem prudent to document everything. For peace of mind if nothing else.

    First Anniversary Combo Breaker Hung up my suit!
    I took loads of photo's of my Grandmothers house and garden before we handed the keys over. Not that we expected any problems with the buyers but because I wanted to remember it as it was. It was a huge house and garden and I wanted to capture the look of it as it was going to get a major renovation by the new owners.

    Yes, with deceased MiL's flat that we owned. DH was working abroad when completion was due and the purchaser and her irritating family had been a nightmare. I took photos on my phone from all sides in every room. I also took one of the electricity meter with a copy of the day's newspaper in it. Part of the rationale was that if the purchasers came back about anything (they did), I would not have the opportunity to take the photos again. The other was so DH could see how it was left as it was his mother's home.
